Hugill returns from Wigan loan

Joe Hugill has returned to Manchester United after a six-month loan stint at Wigan Athletic.

The striker scored five goals for the League One side, and now has a total of 43 senior appearances to his name, with his experience at the Brick Community Stadium building on previous spells at Altrincham and Burton Albion.

The talented 21-year-old featured for United in our pre-season victory over Rangers in Edinburgh, netting our second goal in a 2-0 win, before joining the Latics and wearing their no.9 shirt under Shaun Maloney.

Hugill found the net for Wigan as recently as 29 December, when he scored in a 2-1 defeat to promotion-chasing Wrexham.

He made 18 appearances, in total, for the Latics and now returns to Carrington to continue his development, as the recall clause has been activated in the loan agreement.
