Manchester United are in Premier League action on Boxing Day as we take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Reds will be looking for a response following our defeat against Bournemouth last time out, in what will be our penultimate outing of 2024.

Wolves has proved a happy hunting ground in recent years but with a new manager now in the home dugout, Ruben Amorim’s side will have to be switched on to the test.

Ahead of the contest, our handy guide provides you with all the details on the latest team news, both sides’ recent form and more…

HOW TO WATCH AND FOLLOWUnited’s encounter with the Wanderers will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video along with seven other games on Boxing Day.

Kick-off is scheduled for 17:30 GMT with team news set to be released at 16:15 GMT in the Midlands. MUTV’s Matchday Live show, featuring over an hour of exclusive pre-match build-up, gets under way from 16:25 GMT.

As always, ManUtd.com and our official app will keep you across all the action as it happens, with reaction and analysis also set to follow, along with the highlights two hours after the final whistle. Extended versions will be available across club platforms from Friday morning.

WHAT’S THE LATEST TEAM NEWS?United will be without the injured Mason Mount for our trip to Wolverhampton, while it is unclear whether at this stage if our defensive ranks could be bolstered by any returns among recent defensive absentees Matthijs de Ligt, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw.

De Ligt has missed our last two matches with illness, while Lindelof was forced off in the first half of the recent Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham after appearing to have picked up an issue. Shaw, meanwhile, suffered a small injury setback at the start of the month.

As for Wolves, full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri (suspension) and midfielder Mario Lemina (knock) were both absent from Sunday’s Midlands derby win at Leicester, but could be in contention to come back in on Boxing Day.

Sasa Kalajdzic, Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera, Pablo Sarabia and Boubacar Traore are all currently sidelined and not expected to be available before the end of 2024.

HOW HAVE WOLVES FARED AS OF LATE?New head coach Vitor Pereira enjoyed a winning start to his tenure on Sunday, after replacing former boss Gary O’Neil last week, as Wolves swept aside Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Hoping to fend off relegation this season, Thursday’s clash will be the first time Pereira will take charge on home soil.

The weekend’s win took the Midlands outfit to within two points of safety, as they currently occupy 18th position and sit just inside the relegation zone in the Premier League table, having accumulated 12 points from their opening 17 fixtures.

Top scorer Matheus Cunha was one of three players among the goals at Leicester and will be one to watch for United, having netted nine across all competitions so far this term.

WHO ELSE IS PLAYING?

As mentioned above, our trip to Molineux is one of eight Premier League matches on Boxing Day, with two further games in the latest round of top-flight fixtures taking place on the following day. Here is the schedule…
