How to watch and follow Adobe Women’s FA Cup final

Tuesday 13 May 2025 13:30

Current holders Manchester United Women aim to retain our historic title when facing five-time competition victors Chelsea in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

This is the third successive final that Marc Skinner’s side have contested, having been defeated by Chelsea two years ago, before a fantastic 4-0 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur to lift our first major trophy last May.

The Reds qualified for this year’s showpiece occasion with a 2-0 away victory over rivals Manchester City in April, while Chelsea overcame Liverpool.

As we look forward to another special day in the history of our club, keep reading to find out all the key information…

HOW TO WATCH AND FOLLOW

Our pre-match show on MUTV, ManUtd.com and the United App starts at 12:30 BST, and is the best place to build up the game. It will be followed by live radio commentary from Wembley.

Sunday’s momentous occasion will be broadcast live on BBC One in the UK, with coverage scheduled to begin at 12:50 BST. Kick-off will then follow at 13:30 BST.

Live coverage in the United App and on our website will also include text updates from the stadium, analysis and reaction throughout the afternoon.

TICKET INFORMATION

Both clubs were allocated 20,000 tickets for the Wembley fixture. United fans will occupy the east end of the famous ground, with Chelsea in the west.

Tickets remain available, and you can buy yours here.

TEAM NEWS

Full-back Jayde Riviere and centre-forward Rachel Williams both missed our 4-3 defeat at Arsenal on the final day of the WSL season. However, Skinner has ruled neither out of this one yet.

Riviere has been experiencing “irritation in her ankle” since suffering a knock in the first half of the Old Trafford derby against City earlier this month. Williams hasn’t been in action since our away draw with West Ham United on 19 April.

Aoife Mannion was suspended for our last game at Arsenal, leaving Skinner to adapt our formation to a 3-5-2 system in her and Riviere’s absence. Mannion is available again for this final.

Chelsea will be without long-term absentees Brooke Aspin, Sophie Ingle, Jorja Fox and Lauren James.

Mayra Ramirez has been recovering from a knee injury and could return, and the same is true for Sam Kerr, whose return boss Sonia Bompastor has been fielding questions about for some weeks now.

RECENT MEETINGS

Chelsea secured the WSL title in our last meeting, with a narrow 1-0 victory at Leigh Sports Village. The Blues won by the same scoreline earlier in the season.

United achieved our first victory over Chelsea 13 months ago, winning 2-1 in the FA Cup semi-final to secure our final berth for 2023/24.

FORM GUIDE

United are without a win since our semi-final triumph over City on 13 April, but secured two league draws — 0-0 at West Ham and 2-2 against City at Old Trafford — to ensure European qualification for next season.

Chelsea have been in fine league form, securing them another WSL title, with wins over Crystal Palace, United, Tottenham and Liverpool, but suffered a chastening 8-2 aggregate defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final.

They remain unbeaten in domestic competition this season, making this a huge test for Skinner’s Reds.

ROUTE TO THE FINAL

United overcame West Brom (7-0), Wolves (6-0), Sunderland (3-1) and City (2-0) to reach the final. Chelsea defeated Charlton Athletic (4-0), Everton (4-1), Crystal Palace (1-0) and Liverpool (2-1).

DID YOU KNOW?

The Cup final will be played with a silver ball, to mirror the silverware of the trophy itself.
