It was only a draw, but it’s fair to say Manchester United fans are encouraged by the commitment, grit and fighting spirit that was shown at Anfield on Sunday.
Ruben Amorim’s Reds travelled to Merseyside on the back of four defeats yet produced a stirring performance to secure a deserved 2-2 draw with the Premier League leaders.
Furthermore, United were arguably the better team and went close to winning the game in added time, when Manuel Ugarte’s visionary pass led to Harry Maguire going close with a shot from the edge of the box.
