Harry Kane Gives Emphatic Answer When Asked About Transfer Amid Reports Of £57M Man United Switch

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has played down speculation about a potential move back to England.

Both Man United and former club Tottenham have been touted as potential destinations for the 32-year-old, but asked whether he is considering leaving Bayern, Kane replied:

“No, I’m not thinking about a Premier League return at the moment. I’m really happy here. I have two years left on my contract, and I’m enjoying every moment. Bayern is the best place to win trophies, absolutely.”

As Kane mentions, his contract with Bayern does expire in 2027, but it was recently revealed that he can leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season if a team pays his release clause.

How much would it cost to sign Kane?

Reports in the German media over the past few days have suggested that the buyout fee is €65m (£57m), which seems like a good price for a player of the England captain’s calibre.

However, it appears Kane isn’t ready to return to the Premier League quite yet based on his remarks.

Man United have only recently purchased a new No.9

Some have apparently forgotten that the Red Devils spent nearly £74m on Benjamin Sesko at the start of August. For that reason, they are very unlikely to be in the market for another striker anytime soon.

Admittedly, Sesko has not begun his Old Trafford career very positively. Before the Brentford fixture, the Slovenian international had yet to get off the mark in a United shirt. He has gone 6 appearances without scoring a goal.

Some pundits, including Paul Merson, have already written off Sesko, stating that United should have pursued other forwards, so the 22-year-old will be determined to prove the doubters wrong over the coming weeks and months.
