Former United star announces surprising new business venture that “demands heart, sacrifice and teamwork” – The BBC

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has embarked on a surprise business venture. Man United career Pogba joined United’s academy from Le Havre in 2009 and was part of the 2011 FA Youth Cup winning side. He would leave United on a free transfer in 2012 and spent four successful seasons at Juventus, where he became one of the most sought-after midfielders in world football. The Frenchman made a sensational return to Old Trafford in August 2016 when the Red Devils splashed out £89 million on him. This fee is still the club’s record transfer spend in spite of it taking place almost a decade ago. Pogba spent six seasons at United, scoring 39 goals in 226 appearances during his second spell at the club. He left on a free transfer in 2022 and returned to his former side Juventus. Ban The 2018 World Cup winner suffered a serious injury during his first season back at Juve and was then given a doping banning of four years, which was later reduced to 18 months. Pogba eventually returned to senior action last month after signing for AS Monaco in the summer. New business venture According to The BBC, “Paul Pogba has moved into the sport of camel racing after investing in Saudi Arabia-based team Al Haboob.” The report adds, “the Monaco midfielder has become a shareholder and ambassador for Al Haboob – the world’s first professional camel racing team competing across the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf.” Speaking to BBC sport about this new endeavour Pogba stated, “I’ve watched my fair share of [camel] races on YouTube and spent time doing research in my spare time trying to understand the techniques and strategies. And what stood out to me is how much dedication it takes from everyone involved. At the end of the day, sport is sport. It demands heart, sacrifice and teamwork.” Pogba went on to discuss the value of how sport connects people and revealed that his dream is to own the world’s most expensive camel one day.
