Forget Carlos Baleba, Man United Now Want Chelsea Player Who Is “Not For Sale”

BACK Dylan Oakley Oct 25th 2025 Man United are reportedly interested in a Chelsea player for the January transfer window as they look to strengthen in midfield.  Ruben Amorim will be pleased with his side at the moment. They are currently on a two-game winning streak, with their last win coming against rivals Liverpool in a stunning 2-1 victory at Anfield. The Red Devils will be looking to perform well this weekend when they face Brighton. One of Brighton’s players will be of particular interest to the Red Devils, as they have a very strong transfer interest in Carlos Baleba. The 21-year-old was a target for United in the summer transfer window, but Brighton set a price of over £100m for him. This meant that United were priced out of a deal. Reports say that Man United are still keen on Baleba, but they are having to consider alternative targets ahead of the January transfer window due to Baleba’s cost. Reports are now saying they want to sign a Chelsea player. Man United keen on Andrey Santos Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos has reportedly emerged as a target for Man United, with the Red Devils looking to strengthen in the defensive midfield position. Santos spent last season on loan at French side Strasbourg, but he has become more of a regular for the Blues and Enzo Maresca this season. The 21-year-old has already made six Premier League appearances this season. According to talkSPORT, Man United are keen to sign the Brazilian wonderkid as an alternative to Baleba, however, it does seem that Chelsea are against the idea of a sale. The report by talkSPORT says that Chelsea implicitly say that Santos is “not for sale”, so United may have to get creative if they want to tempt the midfielder to Old Trafford.
