Bryan Mbeumo has been involved in six Premier League goals against our next opponents, Chelsea – but none of them came in home games.

Mbeumo faced the Blues seven times with former club Brentford and enjoyed a good record, as the Bees won three of these encounters, to Chelsea’s two. The other two fixtures ended in draws.

However, intriguingly, all of our no.19’s goal involvements in this west London derby came at Stamford Bridge, as Thomas Frank’s men collected a trio of wins there.

Bryan teed up Vitaly Janelt and future Red Christian Eriksen in a 4-1 victory in 2022 and made it on to the scoresheet himself as they triumphed 2-0 the following season.

Mbeumo grabbed another goal and assist as this scoreline was repeated six months later and, although Brentford were beaten 2-1 at the Bridge last term, the Cameroon international again netted in SW6.

According to Opta, this is the joint-most goal involvements a player has managed against a single opponent with none coming at home in the Premier League, but, with United hosting Chelsea on Saturday, let’s hope this changes soon!

BRUNO’S DOUBLE TON

Bruno Fernandes could make his 200th Premier League appearance for United in this match, and he would become the 28th Red to reach this figure.

He has 51 assists in that time, with only David Beckham (62) making more in his first 200 league games for the club. Fernandes has created the most chances both overall (14) and from open play (10) in the Premier League this season, but is yet to provide an assist.
