The Premier League midfield transfer market in 2026 is set to go wild.
All of a sudden, the brilliance at the centre of the park across most teams is no longer going unnoticed.
Beaming midfield talent
Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson and Yehor Yarmolyuk are among the midfielders Premier League lovers are raving about, many tipping them for big moves next year.
With United’s midfield crying out for quality signings, INEOS are closely monitoring this group, eager to lay their hands on one of them.
Wharton emerging as the top target
Summer target Baleba’s struggles have raised doubts over whether he can handle the pressure at Old Trafford.
According to a report relayed by The Peoples Person, Crystal Palace’s tempo-setter Wharton is now emerging as the preferred option.
The Sun recently revealed that United are preparing a £60 million offer for the Englishman.
It remains uncertain whether that fee will be enough, but even if it falls short, United will be pleased that their intent has already scared off a key transfer rival.
Real Madrid pull out of Wharton race
As per Spanish outlet E-noticies:
“The £60 million to be offered by Manchester United for Adam Wharton is seen as an exorbitant figure that Real Madrid have no intention of matching.
“Florentino Pérez believes the price far exceeds Wharton’s true market value. As a result, Los Blancos have withdrawn from the race, leaving the path clear for the Red Devils to complete the deal.”
As good as Wharton has been, it is baffling that Madrid believe they could land him for less than £60 million.
Rare profile
The 21-year-old is being packaged as the next Michael Carrick, thanks to his composure, vision, line-breaking passes, and ability to control play.
He is an anticipation demon, always in the right place at the right time. Without doubt, he is a rare profile one top clubs should be breaking the bank for.
While the move for Wharton will not be straightforward, even with the Spanish giants pulling out, their bold decision certainly makes the race less congested.
