Manchester United could still sanction Andre Onana’s exit despite the transfer window being closed in England.
Indeed, the window slammed shut at 7pm on Monday evening for the Premier League and the majority of Europe. However, Turkish sides can still do business until Wednesday, September 12, which will have United mulling over a potential deal.
Andre Onana garners late interest from Galatasaray
ESPN confirmed on Monday, via journalist Rob Dawson, that Galatasaray had ‘shown interest over the weekend’ in Onana after missing out on primary target Ederson to arch-rivals Fenerbahce.
United proceeded to sanction the arrival of Onana’s replacement in the form of 23-year-old Senne Lammens, meaning the door is open for the Cameroonian to depart in the coming week.

Dawson does add that Onana would prefer to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford, having fallen hugely out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
Amorim opted to omit the shot-stopper from the matchday squad for the final day of the 2024/2025 campaign before continuing to utilise Altay Bayindir in his place for the start of 2025/2026. Bayindir has started each of the three Premier League fixtures the Reds have played, with Onana only being called upon for last week’s Carabao Cup clash with League Two outfit Grimsby Town.
The 29-year-old conceded two goals in regular time before letting in 12 penalties in the shootout, leaving fans – and Amorim – with little to no faith that he will oversee a better season than the two substandard ones he already has since signing for the club in 2023.
United forked out £47.2 million to sign the ‘keeper from Inter Milan in 2023, with his contract running until 2028.
