There is some positive news for Manchester United, as Chelsea remain interested in the services of Alejandro Garnacho.
The 21-year-old was considered a key player in Erik ten Hag’s plans, cementing himself as a regular starter on the left wing. At the time, the youngster was the toast of the town at Carrington, and was hailed as a ‘phenomenal’ star.
However, the Argentinian’s status drastically changed following the arrival of Ruben Amorim, who implemented a 3-4-2-1 formation.
The rapport between the winger and the Portuguese tactician had been bumpy from the get-go, and the final straw occurred in the Europa League final when the player was kept on the bench for the first 70 minutes, before voicing his irritation with his situation at the club after the final whistle.
Therefore, Garnacho has been placed on the transfer list alongside the likes of Jadon Sancho and Antony.

In recent weeks, Chelsea have revived their interest in the youngster, having already pursued his signature in January. Nevertheless, some sources suggested that the Blues’ pursuit of Xavi Simons could spell the end of their attempts to bring in Garnacho. After all, they have also added Jamie Gittens to their already over-packed squad earlier this summer.
But according to The Telegraph journalist Matt Law, Simon’s arrival wouldn’t necessarily rule out a move for the Man United outcast.
How would Chelsea accommodate both Garnacho & Simons
As the source explains, even if Chelsea succeed in signing the £60 million-rated Simons, there could still be room for Garnacho.
Law argues that the Netherlands international can play either on the left wing or as an attacking midfielder. Hence, Enzo Marseca could field the latter in a central role and place the Argentina star on the left, where he’d compete with Gittens.
In any case, it remains to be seen if the two clubs would be able to find an agreement on the transfer fee and formula.
Man Utd conducted business with the West Londoners last summer, sending Sancho to Stamford Bridge on loan with an obligation to buy, but Chelsea managed to relieve themselves of this clause by paying a £5 million penalty to send the Englishman back to Carrington.
