“Discussions have hit a stalemate”: United superstar’s dream move in danger of collapsing – report

Manchester United are hoping to raise funds through sales as INEOS prepare for another major summer revamp. Two loan deals — Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford — are likely to become permanent this summer, with Napoli and Barcelona looking to add to their ranks respectively. While the Serie A side are almost guaranteed to pay the obligation fee, the Catalan giants are still mulling over options. Recently, The Peoples Person had relayed that the Camp Nou outfit would pay the €30 million fee in three installments for the Mancunian. Barcelona hatch new plan to sign Marcus Rashford But Talksport have now claimed that Deco is concerned about the club’s finances are he is looking to convince the Red Devils to agree another loan deal, after which they will pay the required amount. “Marcus Rashford is close to agreeing terms to join Barcelona this summer but there is work to do in club negotiations, talkSPORT understands. “The 28-year-old England attacker is in advanced talks with Barcelona to finalise an agreement having informed the club he wants to stay beyond his current loan from Manchester United. “However, club-to-club discussions have hit a stalemate with further talks planned. Manchester United sources have consistently insisted Barcelona must pay the €30m option to buy if they want to make Rashford’s move permanent. United unlikely to accept “United sources stress this is excellent value for money given it falls below Rashford’s market valuation. This position has also been directly communicated to Barcelona sporting director Deco. “These have been initiated by Barcelona to try and re-negotiate both the number and structure of the option to buy. talkSPORT understands Deco has also proposed a second season-long loan as one option allowing Barcelona more time pay off the fee while still giving Manchester United the full valuation of the clause.” United are unlikely to accept, which is why Barca are looking at alternatives in the market. Chelsea’s Neto is among the options being looked at, while re-signing Abde Ezzalzouli from Real Betis or ex-Barcelona attacker Jan Virgili could also be an option. Dealing with Barcelona has become a pain, and sooner the deal can be cracked, the better. It should serve as warning to United regarding conducting deals with the Spanish giants. One thing is for certain, Marcus Rashford has no future at Old Trafford.
