Decision made by £35m-£39m star after Man United hold talks to sign him – Report

Kolo Muani Juventus

Manchester United’s striker hunt since the start of the summer transfer window has been well documeneted.

The Red Devils, irrespective of what the future holds for Rasmus Hojlund, need a new number nine who would be able to provide some competition to the young Dane.

The ex-Atalanta striker did impress with a promising showing against Bournemouth in the pre-season friendly, but over the past couple of seasons, it has always been a case of hit and miss with the young number nine.

One player who is on Man Utd’s radar as a new striker option is Randal Kolo Muani. The Frenchman is out of PSG’s project with Luis Enrique playing a system without a conventional number nine.

Now, as per Corriere dello Sport (news image below), Kolo Muani has turned down a potential move to Man Utd despite the club holding talks to sign him. The 26-year-old prefers a move to Juventus. He has also turned down approaches from Chelsea and Saudi Arabia.

The French international spent the second half of last season on loan in Turin. He was a key player for the club until the Club World Cup but now finds himself back at Parc des Princes.

Kolo Muani adds a lot of quality and would be the perfect alternative to Hojlund. He is more experienced, physical and should he agree to move to Man Utd, he would be an important player under Ruben Amorim.

PSG are standing firm on their asking price of around £35m-£39m for the outcast. Juventus are yet to reach an agreement with the Ligue 1 club over a potential transfer.

For now, all Man Utd can do is to ensure they are in the loop about what goes on with Kolo Muani. Should he fail to secure his Juventus move, the Red Devils need to be ready to swoop in.

The next few weeks should provide a clearer picture on how things play out with regards to this transfer saga.
