Manchester United played out a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in North London. Here are our player ratings from the game. (A score of 6 is around average) Senne Lammens 7 – Made two outstanding saves in the second half to deny Cuti Romero and Joao Palhinha. Deflection gave him absolutely no chance fo Mathys Tel’s equaliser. Matthijs de Ligt 4 – Doing well until he was spun by Tel for the hosts to draw level. Made amends in the dying embers to make it 2-2 and snatch a valuable point for United. Harry Maguire 6.5 – Solid on his return to the team. Forced off in the 71st minute with what appeared to be a hamstring injury. Luke Shaw 6.5 – Confident, making multiple crucial interceptions and keeping Xavi Simons at bay. Noussair Mazraoui 4 – Not his best game. Easy to tell he’s had a patchy start to the season due to injuries. A number of sloppy moments on and off the ball, but luckily, these mistakes were not punished. Rightly taken off at the hour mark. He’ll get better with more minutes in his tank. Casemiro 6 – Did his job. Bruno Fernandes 6 – Presented with an excellent chance to double United’s advantage but he couldn’t make the most of Amad’s over-the-top ball. Embarked on a brilliant surging run early on and influenced the game brilliantly from deep. Patrick Dorgu 6 – Some heavy touches and misplaced passes but his ability to win fouls crucially helped take the sting out of the game when Spurs were in the ascendancy. Amad 8.5 – Class! Exceptional delivery to register an assist for the opener. Could have had another assist to his name but Fernandes could not tame his effort. A danger all game on being restored in a more advanced position. Didn’t skip a beat when he went back to right-wing-back, from where he was orchestrating his side’s attacks. Bryan Mbeumo 8.5 – Lovely headed finish to break the deadlock. Just a fantastic player. Matheus Cunha 5 – Came close with a half chance in the early stages but that was mostly it. Not involved in a lot in the striker position. Off the pace. Substitutes Benjamin Sesko 5 – Had two good chances to score but couldn’t react quickly enough to get a shot off. Leny Yoro 6 – Picked up where Maguire left off. Manuel Ugarte 4 – Played Richarlison onside for Spurs’ winner. Mason Mount 6 – Two sumptuous passes for Sesko and should have really had an assist.
