David Ornstein Names 2 Man United Players Who Are Set To Stay Despite Exit Rumours

The Red Devils are certainly on the up at the moment, as they come off a 3-2 win against Arsenal, which put them fourth in the Premier League table. Michael Carrick is doing everything to convince United to make him the permanent manager, but whether he stays remains to be seen. In terms of the January window, Man United haven’t made any signings, and they also haven’t seen any January exits, although Casemiro did confirm that he’ll leave at the end of the season. Both Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee have been linked with leaving this month, with Ugarte linked to Eredivisie side Ajax, and Zirkzee previously linked with Roma and West Ham. Ornstein says Zirkzee and Ugarte are set to stay at Man United Amid the recent exit rumours of both Zirkzee and Ugarte, seeing as they’ve not signed anyone, Man United will be keen to keep hold of both players, and it seems like they’re going to. According to the Athletic’s David Ornstein, neither Zirkzee or Ugarte are currently close to an exit despite the reports, and it is understood that any exits from Old Trafford in the remaining days of January will be younger players. He did name Toby Collyer, Tyler Fredricson and Ethan Wheatley as thee players who could leave, with Collyer already close to joining Championship side Hull City on loan. But as things stand, United aren’t set to make any major January sales before the end of the transfer window. Whether Zirkzee or Ugarte leave in the summer is another story, as neither are getting regular game time, and both have struggled to find form since joining in the summer of 2024.
