Confirmed United XI vs Newcastle: Both Fletcher twins in squad, Martinez starts

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has selected both of Darren Fletcher’s twin sons, Jack and Tyler, for tonight’s Premier League tie against Newcastle United at Old Trafford. They are both on the bench, with the starting XI being exactly as predicted this morning by The Peoples Person. Defence Senne Lammens is in goal. The back three are Lisandro Martinez, Ayden Heaven and Luke Shaw. Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu are the wing-backs. Despite the absence of Matthijs de Ligt (injury), Harry Maguire (injury), and Nouss Mazraoui (Afcon), Leny Yoro is dropped in favour of Martinez. It means all three of United’s starters tonight are left-sided centre backs. Midfield and Attack Casemiro returns after a one-game suspension to partner Manuel Ugarte in midfield. Up front, Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount will flank centre-forward Ben Sesko. Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo are still injured, while Amad and Bryan Mbeumo are at Afcon. Substitutes Darren Fletcher’s twin sons Jack and Tyler are both on the bench for United tonight. They are joined by Altay Bayindir, Tyler Fredricson, Tyrell Malacia, Leny Yoro, Bendito Mantato, Shea Lacey and Josh Zirkzee. Like Yoro, Zirkzee will be disappointed not to be able to force his way into such a threadbare side. It is starting to feel inevitable that he will leave the club, if not in January, then in the summer.
