Club makes shocking transfer demand to sanction sale of United target, suitors have been left “frustrated” – report

Southampton want a staggering £100 million to allow star forward and reported Manchester United target Tyler Dibling to leave this summer.

United are expected to be in the market for attacking reinforcements, and Dibling – who can operate both out wide and in an advanced midfield role – is believed to be of interest to the side.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United have already initiated talks for Dibling, who is almost certainly guaranteed to get a move this summer, amidst Southampton’s imminent relegation and the fact he is approaching the final year of his contract.

However, as it stands, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are making the strongest moves in a bid to land the England youth international.

Dibling has been a bright spark in an otherwise dreadful season for Southampton, which could still see them set the record for the Premier League’s lowest-ever points tally—they need three more to surpass Derby County’s dismal 11-point haul from the 2007/08 campaign.

He stood out in both fixtures against United, particularly at St. Mary’s, where he gave Diogo Dalot a torrid time.

There were suggestions that Southampton would part ways with Dibling for £55m. Another report claimed that £33m could be enough to get a deal over the line.

However, according to The Telegraph, the Saints want a mammoth £100m sum.

The newspaper claims, “Southampton are ready to demand a staggering fee of more than £100 million for Tottenham and Manchester City target Tyler Dibling.”

“The highly rated attacking midfielder will be one of the most sought after talents in this summer’s transfer window but Southampton’s current valuation is leaving Premier League clubs frustrated.”

“They [Southampton] are expecting strong interest in the summer but are prepared to adopt a hardline stance on his future, with their valuation higher than the £100 million paid by Manchester City to Aston Villa for Jack Grealish in August 2021.”

Dibling has registered four goals and two assists this season. However, if Southampton hold firm on their valuation, United may well abandon their pursuit of the teenager and explore alternative options.
