Hull City have reportedly entered the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Toby Coller on loan this summer.
Collyer set for loan exit
Collyer has been on United’s books since 2022, having joined the club from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.
The midfield prospect turned down interest from Brentford and Chelsea to seal a switch to Old Trafford.
Collyer has enjoyed a fantastic rise at United, coming through the ranks to now being a fully established member of the first team. He had a breakout 2024/25 campaign but could have played even more games were it not for consistently occurring injuries that limited him to 13 appearances.
He missed 28 games through three separate injuries.
United are understood to have made the decision to loan out Collyer, who is attracting interest from Sheffield Wednesday.
A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Wednesday are looking to complete a double swoop for Collyer and United teammate Harry Amass.
Now, The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has revealed that Hull City are set to challenge Wednesday for Collyer’s signature.
Hull keen on hijacking Wednesday’s deal for Collyer
According to Nixon [via his Patreon], Hull have emerged as frontrunners to snap up Collyer on a temporary deal, presumably for the 2025/26 season.
Hull are hoping to beat Wednesday in the race for the 21-year-old.
The Tigers believe they can present both Collyer and United with a more attractive package, offering him a platform to continue his development while gaining valuable first-team experience.
Hull finished last season in 21st place, nine spots below Wednesday, their chief competitor for Collyer.
