Bruno Fernandes set to make Premier League history against Villa tomorrow

Manchester United travel to Birmingham to take on Aston Villa in the Premier League tomorrow afternoon. The Red Devils have faced Villa 200 times in one of England’s most historic fixtures. United have won 107 times, drawn 42 and lost 51. Here are three things to look forward to. Man United record vs Aston Villa Man United winsDrawsAston Villa WinsTotal matches 1074251200 United have dominated Villa The Red Devils have been impressive for many years against Aston Villa. The BBC report that, “Aston Villa have won just one of their last 26 Premier League home games against Manchester United (drawing nine and losing 16), beating them 3-1 in November 2022 in Unai Emery’s first match in charge.” The Red Devils drew 0-0 last season in one of Erik ten Hag’s final matches in charge. They also won 2-1 in February 2024 thanks to goals from Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay. Villa in red-hot form What makes United’s recent run against Villa more impressive is how strong they have been. The Villans qualified for the Champions League in the 2024-2025 season and are currently playing in the Europa League. They also currently sit third in the league, just three points off the top. Aston Villa are on an incredible run, having “won their last six Premier League games, and their last nine in all competitions.” Ruben Amorim’s side will need to be in top form to get the job done tomorrow afternoon. Bruno Fernandes chasing records Bruno Fernandes has been in incredible form once again this season. The Portuguese midfielder “has assisted in each of his last five away Premier League appearances for Man Utd – should he get one in this game, he’ll be the first player in Premier League history to assist in six away games in a row.” What’s more, he has also both scored and assisted in his last two Premier League games. Were he to also achieve this versus Villa, he would join Ryan Giggs as the only other United player to do so three games in a row.
