Al-Hilal are reportedly set to try again for Napoli star and Manchester United target Victor Osimhen despite being rejected by the player last week.
Osimhen is believed to be a name on United’s transfer wishlist, as efforts to sign a new reliable striker ramp up.
He spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Galatasaray after trying to force his way out of Napoli last summer. Osimhen didn’t miss a beat with the Turkish club, plundering an impressive 37 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Al-Hilal shifted their focus to Osimhen after being turned down by Bruno Fernandes, but much like the United captain, Osimhen also rejected their approach.
The Saudi Pro League side were confident of landing the Nigerian star, having tabled a staggering €30 million salary offer. Al-Hilal had even reached an agreement with Napoli over the transfer fee, making Osimhen’s rejection all the more significant.
It’s believed that Osimhen is holding out for a move to the Premier League, with United reportedly being a “dream” destination for him.
More recently, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United have resumed talks with Osimhen over the possibility of a switch to the Theatre of Dreams.
The report claimed that Osimhen wants a €12 million annual salary, while Napoli will demand that his €75 million release clause be triggered.
However, United’s pursuit of the 26-year-old could face a fresh hurdle with Al-Hilal re-entering the picture, as they remain determined not to give up on Osimhen, according to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.
Sabuncuoğlu wrote on X, “EXCLUSIVE | Al-Hilal is back on the table for Victor Osimhen!”
“The Saudi Club has made contact with Osimhen again.”
“They will make a new offer!”

While it seems unlikely that Osimhen will reverse his stance, Al-Hilal may feel more optimistic about their chances now that there’s no longer pressure to finalise a deal before the start of the Club World Cup.
