Man Utd ‘prepare offer’ to sign Tottenham target with ‘new dream priority identified’ amid two ‘problems’

According to reports, Manchester United are ‘preparing an offer’ to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils are already linked with several potential targets ahead of this summer’s transfer window with a significant squad overhaul necessary.

United have spent most of the 2024/25 campaign in the bottom half of the Premier League table and need to win the Europa League to qualify for Europe ahead of next season.

Man Utd have struggled to adapt to Ruben Amorim‘s preferred style and formation, so INEOS will be hoping that a summer rebuild could make their squad more aligned with the head coach’s methods.

Upgrades are required in forward areas as Man Utd have been toothless in attack this season. Their priority will be to sign a new striker, but they also need to invest in a No.10 or two.

Eze has been sporadically linked with Man Utd over the past couple of years and his performance in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup quarter-final should tempt the Red Devils to make a summer move.

The England international sparkled for Palace last season, but his form dipped before he grabbed a goal and an assist in his side’s 3-0 win against Fulham.

A report from Spanish outlet Fichajes claims Eze has been ‘identified’ as Man Utd’s ‘new dream’ target and they are ‘preparing a 60 million euro [£50m] offer’.

This offer would not quite meet Crystal Palace’s asking price, and there are two ‘problems’ to overcome.

‘Manchester United has set its sights on Eberechi Eze as one of its priorities for summer reinforcements.

‘With a transfer market that promises to be intense, the English club’s directors have identified the Crystal Palace midfielder as a player with the right profile to bolster their squad.’

‘However, securing his services will not be an easy task, as his club is not willing to let him leave for less than 60 million pounds, a figure that could complicate the operation.

‘United’s footballing management, led by Christopher Vivell and Jason Wilcox, is exploring various options for the summer transfer window, but interest in Eze is strong. His playmaking ability and attacking versatility fit with the coaching staff’s vision of strengthening the squad. Furthermore, Rubén Amorim sees him as a player with the talent necessary to be a starter and make a difference in the Premier League.

‘The problem for the Red Devils lies not only in the high cost of the deal, but also in the competition.

‘Tottenham is closely monitoring the player’s situation and could enter the bidding process, although they first need to resolve the continuity of Ange Postecoglou, who is under pressure after recent results.’

26-goal super striker dubbed “a force of nature” rejects CL giants, United are among his “preferred destinations” – report

Manchester United’s 0-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday was yet another clear indication that Ruben Amorim needs more help upfront.

The Red Devils had three times more shots than Forest while also dominating possession but due to lack of cutting edge up top, the visitors failed to get on the scoresheet.

The head coach’s decision to play Joshua Zirkzee as a lone striker did not help as the Dutchman is far more comfortable as an attacking midfielder while dropping Rasmus Hojlund after his two goals last month was another strange decision.

Both strikers have struggled to find the back of the net this season and it is imperative that INEOS bring in a ruthless centre-forward in the summer.

Osimhen chase

While Amorim would prefer a reunion with Sporting CP protege Viktor Gyokeres, the Swede does not want a move to Old Trafford, which is why the club have moved on to Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian has no qualms about playing for the 20-time English league champions even if there is no Champions League football on offer.

Osimhen has 26 goals this season for loan club Galatasaray and has been dubbed a “force of nature“. Which makes it pretty obvious that lots of club will be interested in the Napoli ace with Juventus being one of them.

However, as per Juve FC, the 26-year-old has rejected the Binaconeri’s advances and made it clear to them that he prefers a move to the Premier League.

Chelsea, Arsenal and United are the three clubs in England with the most chance of landing the Galatasaray loanee while there is also interest from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

“According to JuveFC sources, Juventus recently held a meeting with the representatives of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to discuss a potential transfer. The Bianconeri outlined their vision and ambitions, hoping to convince the Nigerian international to make the switch to Turin.

Osimhen rejects Juve

“However, Osimhen reportedly responded with gratitude, politely acknowledging Juventus’ interest while making it clear that his priority is to secure a move to one of Europe’s top clubs.

“The striker is particularly keen on joining a Premier League side, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea among his preferred destinations.”

Osimhen’s wage demands and Napoli’s asking price will be quite steep and for a deal to materialise, big-name sales could be on the cards at United.

Whether a blockbuster deal can be concluded remains to be seen. The three-time European champions are keeping a close watch on cost-effective options like Liam Delap, Lorenzo Lucca and Dusan Vlahovic as well.

United winger breaks silence on his future after finding blistering form with loan club – report

Brazilian winger Antony has spoken on his long term future as he continues to impress in his loan spell with La Liga side, Real Betis.

The 25-year-old was allowed to leave Old Trafford in the winter transfer window and has found some form on the continent, notching four goals in all competitions and providing some eye catching displays.

With the season nearing its conclusion, speculation has begun regarding the forward’s long term plans but Antony insists it’s still “too early” to decide his future.

As reported by The Mirror, Antony told Mundo Deportivo he is loving life in Spain but isn’t ready to cement his plans beyond the end of the current campaign.

“I’m very happy here (Betis), but it’s still too early to decide. I enjoy every day in the Betis shirt.

“I identify a lot with the fans because of the feeling; we Brazilians are like that too,” he said.

The Betis fans have certainly taken to the winger who has lit up the Estadio Benito Villamarín at times and the home faithful will be desperate for the club to make the deal permanent in the summer.

However, financial restraints could complicate a potential transfer with teammate Isco insisting the club need a crowd funding to ensure he stays for another year at least.

It’s clear the former Ajax man is suited to the pace in Europe, rather than the helter-skelter nature of the Premier League, in which he has struggled to make an impact.

The mega money transfer to United came with the expectations of goals and assists but after almost two years of poor form in Manchester, INEOS will almost certainly be cutting their losses in the upcoming market.

Atletico Madrid have also emerged as surprise potential suitors, underlining the impact Antony has made in Spain and leaving United in with a chance of sparking a bidding war to secure his services.

Meanwhile, United continue to struggle in attacking areas, with Tuesday’s loss to Nottingham Forest another stark example of the lack of quality in Amorim’s squad.

A busy summer is certainly on the cards at the Theatre of Dreams and it’s expected Antony will be used to bolster the transfer kitty with Amorim desperate to build a side that is better suited to his playing style.

Legendary Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has been honoured with a mural in his home town of Middleton.

Scholes made 718 appearances and scored 155 goals for United – his only club during a career that spanned almost two decades and included 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League triumphs.

‘The Ginger Ninja’, as he was affectionately known by Reds, has moved into punditry since retiring in 2013, working with TNT Sports and The Overlap, among others.

He is also the co-owner of Salford City, who he has managed across two caretaker spells, but it is in Langley, Middleton – a town in the borough of Rochdale – where he is most cherished.

So it’s fitting that Scholesy’s image has now been rendered large across the side of Middleton Fish Bar, following a public poll asking residents to choose from a selection of famous local subjects.

Renowned street artist Akse P19 is the man responsible for the final design and he has past experience when it comes to portraying United figures, having created Marcus Rashford’s mural in Withington during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Thrilled to have completed the mural of @Paulscholesaaa in Middleton, curated by @culturecoopuk, @art.house.midd, and @middletoncooperating,” the artist said, on Instagram.

“Paul Scholes, a true legend of the game, hails from Langley, Middleton, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation— just ask @zidane!

“Recently, a public poll was held to decide which local subject should be celebrated with a mural, and Scholes not only won but did so by a significant margin.

“What’s even more remarkable is that some Manchester City fans participated in the vote, choosing Scholes, which speaks volumes about the impact he’s had not only in the football world but also within the local community.

“This mural serves as a lasting tribute to his incredible career and the pride he brings to Middleton.”

The art is based on an original photo by Mancunian photographer Paul Cooper, and Scholes was typically laidback when asked about the depiction on the latest episode of The Overlap’s Fan Debate.

“Yeah, I wasn’t expecting that,” he said.

“It’s on the side of a chippy in Middleton, where I’m from. I didn’t really know about it, but someone sent me a picture of it on Instagram last week.

“Apparently there was a vote for three or four people from Middleton – [Alan Partridge actor] Steve Coogan, and a swimmer, Keri-Anne Payne, were in there, and I won the vote.”

Nice one, Scholesy!

Man Utd tipped to ‘say’ goodbye with £90m ‘offer’ amid ‘two massive factors’ in Real Madrid transfer

Manchester United have been tipped to sell Bruno Fernandes to La Liga giants Real Madrid if they receive a £90m ‘offer’ this summer.

The 2024/25 campaign has been disastrous for the Red Devils, who suffered their 13th Premier League loss of the season against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night. This result leaves them ten points adrift of the top six.

A massive squad overhaul is required this summer with Man Utd miles away from challenging for the Premier League title, and most of their players are at risk of being offloaded.

Fernandes has carried United this season, as he has grabbed 16 goals and 16 assists in his 45 appearances across all competitions

The 30-year-old’s great form has reportedly caught the attention of Real Madrid, who are plotting a £90m offer ahead of this summer. It’s also been suggested that Man Utd have ‘identified five successors’.

Presenter Jeff Stelling and pundit Ally McCoist cannot see Fernandes committing to Man Utd if Real Madrid make a “£90m offer”.

“They’re talking £90 million (€107m) from Real Madrid, if Real Madrid genuinely came in with a £90m offer, Jim Ratcliffe is shaking his hand and saying, ‘Good luck son,’” Stelling said on talkSPORT.

READ: Rashford ‘could play for Manchester United again’ – if finger-pointing Ruben Amorim suddenly resigns

McCoist agreed: “He’s away. And not only that, there’ll be a knock at the door from Fernandes himself, saying, ‘Excuse me, I’ve got a chance to go to Real Madrid here,’ so they are two massive factors, no doubt about it.

“If Real Madrid come in for him, what is he going to think?

“I think he deserves to be playing with better players at this moment in time.

“I think Manchester United are a massive club, but they’re just going through a tough time at this moment in time.”

Stelling concluded: “If it’s Manchester United struggling in the Premier League or Real Madrid, there is zero choice.”

Earlier this month, Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim addressed reports linking Fernandes with an exit.

“No. It’s not going to happen,” Amorim said.

“He’s 30, I think, but he’s still so young because he plays 55 games every season and between assists and goals he’s there for 30 at least.

“We are in control of the situation and I feel that he is really happy here, especially because he understands what we want to do and then I think he is one more supporter of Manchester United. He really feels it.

“Sometimes the frustration that you and everybody sees, and says, ‘It’s not a good thing for the captain’ – it’s a sign that he wants it so bad.

“This is the kind of player we want. He’s not going anywhere – because I already told him.”

United in talks to sign 29-yo star to replace frustrating Ten Hag signing, transfer seen as “matter of time” – report

Manchester United are determined to replace Andre Onana with AC Milan star Mike Maignan, as per reports.

Onana continues to leave fans and pundits alike disappointed with his unreliable shot-stopping.

United’s outfield players were caught cold on the break by Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, as they should have never allowed Anthony Elanga to run through their midfield and take a shot from inside the box.

Still, Onana could have done better to deny the Swede. The United number 1’s positioning was atrocious, allowing the Forest winger to slot the ball into the bottom right corner with a relatively timid shot.

The 29-year-old’s mistake didn’t surprise many, as such weak shot-stopping has become a habit for the error-prone goalkeeper.

Manchester United trying to sign Mike Maignan

According to Fichajes, United are “already working” on strengthening their goalkeeping department and have set their sights on Maignan.

The France international has been a commanding presence between the sticks for Milan for many seasons now. Apart from his excellent shot-stopping skills, Maignan has also impressed with his composure in possession.

It is understood that United consider the Frenchman as their preferred option to replace the underwhelming Onana.

Further, the Spanish outlet claim that the negotiations between the player and United have made significant progress, suggesting that “his arrival in the Premier League could be a matter of time.”

Maignan, 29, will enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer.

However, considering his importance to their project, the Rossoneri are expected to demand a substantial fee to sanction his exit.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the Red Devils are also eyeing Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, but they face competition from noisy neighbours, Manchester City.

Man Utd: Amorim ‘unconvinced’ by Red Devils star for alarming reason with INEOS to sanction ‘sale’

According to reports, Manchester United would ‘reluctantly sell’ Kobbie Mainoo this summer with head coach Ruben Amorim ‘not completely convinced’.

Mainoo has been heavily linked with an exit from Man Utd over the past six months, as the Premier League giants need to offload unwanted players to raise funds for a summer rebuild.

The 19-year-old was one of the breakout stars in the Premier League last season before he shone for England during the European Championships.

The centre-midfielder’s sudden emergence makes him one of United’s most valuable assets, but he has only managed 15 Premier League starts this term amid his injury issues.

The Red Devils are enduring a miserable season as they sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table, and it’s been widely reported that they would consider offers for most of their squad.

READ: Rashford ‘could play for Manchester United again’ – if finger-pointing Ruben Amorim suddenly resigns

At the start of this season, Mainoo was indispensable at Man Utd, but he was made available for a transfer in January amid interest from Chelsea and his situation reportedly remains the same heading into the summer.

A report from the i Paper claims exits for Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are ‘serious options’ for United, with Amorim not the midfielder’s biggest fan.

‘Cashing in on either Kobbie Mainoo or Alejandro Garnacho remains a serious option this summer. Mainoo is understood to be entertaining the idea of seeking a move away from the club, with the youngster yet to put pen to paper on a new contract.

👉 Two Manchester United transfer decisions exposed by ruthless Nottingham Forest after inexplicable £90m calls

‘Amorim is not completely convinced Mainoo has the fitness levels to be a success in his system. The club would therefore reluctantly sell for offers of around £70m, sources said.

‘Mainoo is of interest to Chelsea, who also considered a January swoop for Garnacho. They could revisit the move for the Argentine in the summer, with Napoli also keen.’

The report claims ‘as many as ten players could be sold’ this summer, with Man Utd ‘hoping’ to offload two players for around £80m combined.

‘United co-owners Ineos are already setting the wheels in motion for a summer clear out. As many as 10 players could be sold in order to raise the funds Ruben Amorim needs to conduct a squad overhaul.

‘Sir Jim Ratcliffe is willing to back Amorim in allowing him to bring in the type of players he needs to fit into his footballing ethos. Young players in peak fitness are the main requirement.

‘To facilitate that rebuild, United must generate income from player sales – an area they have fallen well behind their rivals in recent years.

‘This will be especially crucial if they do not win the Europa League to earn qualification for next season’s Champions League and the riches that brings.

‘Moving Mason Greenwood, Scott McTominay and Aaron Wan-Bissaka on helped United generate close to £100m in players sales last summer, but they are going to need to break that figure and some to give Amorim the tools he needs to drive lasting change.

‘It is hoped that Antony and another rejuvenated forward out on loan, Marcus Rashford, can generate around £80m, with Aston Villa retaining a £40m option to make the 27-year-old’s move to the Midlands a permanent one.’

Man City FFP 48-point deduction requested alongside Liverpool bottle job

Starting to look like this season simply cannot be saved from itself, isn’t it? But we can’t be that gloomy about things. Not when spring has sprung, the sun is shining, and all things seem possible.

Namely, these five things, any one or more of which could have a transformative effect on how what does for now appear to be a somewhat moribund final couple of months of the season might pan out.

Everton beat Liverpool
So, yeah, good chance we lose one of our five desperate season-saving Hail Marys very quickly indeed. But it’s too obvious an option not to include.

This is nothing against Liverpool, because Lord knows nobody wants Arsenal to actually win the league and their fans to start Stay Humbling all over social media like an unstoppable swarm of bastards. No, that would be awful.

But we would quite like something halfway approaching a title race, and if the form book were to be sufficiently defenestrated at Anfield for Everton to ride their David Moyes wave harder than they’ve ever ridden it before and snaffle three points at their old rivals then we will once again have that, at least.

Liverpool would still win the title, obviously. They would still need only 16 points – even if Arsenal go flawlessly through the rest of their season, which if anything looks less rather than more likely after the manner of that win over Fulham on Tuesday – and they’ve still got games against Leicester, Spurs and West Ham who are all just awful.

But it would be enough to give everyone pause. It would be enough to get everyone going ‘Okay, but if…’. It would have people looking differently at Arsenal’s trip to Anfield in the third-last round of games.

It would, above all, have everyone talking about the possibility of an all-time bottling as a 15-point lead dwindled to just nine.

If absolutely nothing else, it would start The Discourse. And frankly we’re now desperate enough that this would be enough.

READ: Liverpool vs Everton prediction, expected line-ups, how to watch and stats

Enormous Points Deductions
Wolves’ win over West Ham has once and for all finished off the long forgotten relegation fight.

The gap from 17th to 18th is now, absurdly, 12 points. The bottom three have just… stopped. In their last five games each they have between them managed one single, solitary point from those 15 games. The next worst team over the last five games – Bournemouth, weirdly – have four points on their own.

And a look at the bottom of the Premier League table this time last year is just now very depressing. Far more exciting down at the bottom, it was.

At this same 29-or-30-game stage, a mere five points separated 18th-placed Luton from Brentford all the way up in 15th. Nottingham Forest were level on points with Luton, and Everton were only three points better off. The relegation fight was alive with possibility.

Didn’t happen in the end. The promoted three just went straight back down, just like they will this year. But there were still possibilities. And that’s all we ask.

Now one of the main reasons there were still such possibilities was because both Everton and Forest had been docked a whole bunch of points for reasons that are boring and now irrelevant. What matters is that made things exciting, didn’t it? For everyone else? For us, basically?

So let’s do that again. The most obvious option here is the Man City FFP elephant that’s been sitting patiently in the Premier League room for years now, largely ignored and pointed out only occasionally by Liverpool or Arsenal fans whenever it coincidentally suited them to suddenly position themselves as acting for the good of the entire game, or by us when we needed some #content and #numbers from hypothetical #bumgravy.

SEE: Man City FFP: Liverpool, Man Utd, even Spurs among new winners of reallocated trophies on alternate timeline

The question here then becomes how many points do we need to knock off City (325?) to make an interesting relegation fight? Harder than you might think, that is. Take too many and they’ve no chance, but given the bottom three have all collectively decided they don’t want any more points thanks very much we are going to need to take an awful lot to avoid even this halfway calamitous iteration of City simply easing back past them.

City have managed only a fairly miserable 1.65 points per game this season. Across nine remaining games, that amounts to roughly 15 points. And that’s actually not far off what we’re looking for, given Ipswich and Leicester each currently have 17.

Let’s say we want to challenge City to overperform their season-long record to escape and the answer is fairly simple after all. Dock them all 48 of their currently accumulated points and challenge them to reel in those three teams who have all simply stopped running.

Come on, you have to admit that would be genuinely exciting. Like one of those novelty races you get at baseball games where Joe Public gets a big headstart to try and outrun some mysterious Stig-type fella wearing a full skintight bodysuit for some reason.

Other options including just knocking a bunch of points off Spurs and/or Man United as punishment for being so unforgivably wretched despite all their inherent advantages. Just 25 each or so would be enough to make things at least vaguely interesting for a while there.

Arsenal knock out Real Madrid
We’re not greedy here at F365. We’re not asking or expecting Arsenal to plough through Real Madrid and then PSG and then either Barcelona or Bayern Munich to actually win the Champions League. That would be absurd.

All we’re asking is for them to just knock out the single greatest Champions League knockout team in history. Not much to ask, is it? If Arsenal can just do that, we can get all the way to May pretending they might actually win the whole thing. That’ll help us feel something, at least, we’d imagine.

They’ve got Bukayo Saka back, haven’t they? That’s good. That’ll definitely help, what with him being brilliant and such.

Sure, this is Arsenal 2024/25 and wherever there is an up there must be a down, and thus as payment for welcoming Saka back from hamstring twang Arsenal have had to watch Gabriel Margalhaes go down with hamstring twang.

You could make the case that this is sub-optimal ahead of facing Your Kylian Mbappes and Your Jude Bellinghams and the Vinicius Juniors of this world and you could make that case because you’d be absolutely right. But we are going to need Arsenal to just rise above and do the necessary on this occasion.

Your country needs you. The season needs you.

Postecoglou Sack
How about a late-season manager sacking to distract from the futility of the football itself? That would be nice, wouldn’t it? Yeah? Make us all forget about the bad things that happen for a joyful split second, or so?

Only possible place it can really still happen is Spurs, and the only possible way it can still happen is if they crash and burn in the Europa League quarter-finals against Eintracht Frankfurt. So we’ll have that, please.

Good news about this one is that, unlike the mainly theoretical possibilities on the rest of this list, this one actually feels if anything probable rather than merely possible. Spurs really are very, very bad, and Big Ange, bless him, still doesn’t really show any hint of being able to find a solution to that problem. And quite often we’re not actually sure he’s even aware of the very existence of the problem.

Clear now that Spurs have backed themselves into something of a corner with Postecoglou, and (point two above notwithstanding) the sheer lack of the terrifying relegation fight in which they deserve to find themselves means no amount of further league woe can see him off until the end of the season. If falling to 15th hasn’t done it, hard to see how falling to 16th shifts that needle.

No, while there remains even a single uncracked egg in the Europa League basket, the Australian is safe. Time to blow up the basket.

Man United win the Europa League
Just because it would be funny, wouldn’t it? Grimly funny. Annoyingly funny. Grossly unfairly funny.

But definitely and undeniably funny.

United’s latest predictable calamity – having all of the ball and most of the chances and none of the goals at Nottingham Forest – is important for two reasons. First, a reminder of just how bad United actually are. But secondly, it robs us of another potential source of excitement on the run-in: will Forest qualify for the Champions League?

The answer to that, with a 10-point cushion to sixth-placed Newcastle, is now surely yes. Superb achievement, and we’re delighted for them, but they’ve done the unthinkable so easily that there isn’t even excitement left in that. It’s done.

So we have to turn back to United themselves.

SEE: The remarkable Premier League table since Forest appointed Nuno

They have been absolutely abysmal this season, no question about that, yet we find ourselves impossibly drawn to the idea of United’s last three seasons each continuing a marked downward trend yet ending with an even better trophy in the overflowing Old Trafford cabinets at their end.

In 2022/23 they were quite good and won the Carabao. In 2023/24 they were quite bad and won the FA Cup. In 2024/25 they have been very bad and might win the Europa League.

If that comes to pass there will only be one place that trend can go next. United will get relegated and win the Champions League in 2025/26. And who wouldn’t want to see that? Feels like everybody wins there, a little bit.

Also, United winning the Europa League has another neatness to it. It would mean that since Fergie left them in such a terrible state that they’ve endured a decade and more of untold misery and despair and awfulness and non-stop bad times they would also have won two FA Cups, two Carabao, and two Europas.

In other words, United’s Banter Era would contain more pots and pans than most clubs’ most cherished golden eras of success.

Even without the addition of this year’s still hypothetical bauble, United have been the fourth most successful side in English football in the post-Fergie bleakness. Only Liverpool, City and Chelsea have won more. United’s five major trophies in that time is more than Arsenal and Spurs combined.

A good bit is a good bit. Let’s all just lean into it and get through to the end of May.

A reminder: Man Utd or Spurs could still qualify for Champions League!

“He will do everything possible”: Agent of United star reassures fans that player is fully committed to club

The agent of Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has claimed that his player will do everything to help Ruben Amorim succeed at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese fullback is one of the club’s longest serving current players as he joined in 2018 under Jose Mourinho from FC Porto.

He has played 203 games for the Red Devils.

Dalot won the Players’ player of the season award last year and in spite of a more mixed bag of a season this year, he has still been a mainstay in the team, playing in 46 matches.

In an interview last month, the defender admitted that he and his side have been well below par this season and he claimed, “I think the history of this club is about sacrifice and fighting against the world.”

What’s more, his agent Carlos Gonçalves has been speaking to Portuguese paper Record and according to him, Dalot is fully committed to returning United on the right path.

The fullback has been linked with a move away from United to clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich but this does not currently seem on the player’s mind.

The agent praised his player’s form over the last few seasons by stating, “because of Diogo’s way of being, his way of working, his mentality of always being professional, he has earned his place. Not only at Manchester United, which is one of the best clubs in the world, regardless of the current situation, but also in the national team.”

Gonçalves also claimed that the Red Devils are very happy with the progress of his player and he said, “he recently renewed his contract, a sign that Manchester United are still very happy with Diogo’s performances. And he will do everything possible to help the club and in this case, coach Ruben Amorim.”

The agent backed current United manager Ruben Amorim, comparing him to legendary manager Jose Mourinho.

“It’s always good when you have quality coaches like José Mourinho at United and now Ruben Amorim. But when someone signs with a club, they don’t sign with the coach, they sign with the club.”

Dalot has also been full of praise for his compatriot in the past and in February claimed that Amorim has the potential to lead United to a Premier League title in the future.

Manchester United’s game at Newcastle United later this month will be our first in the Premier League to feature semi-automated offside technology.

After a successful trial in the Emirates FA Cup this term, the process will be introduced from Saturday 12 April for top-flight matches.

Our fixture that weekend is Sunday’s trip to Carabao Cup winners Newcastle United for a 16:30 BST kick-off.

The technology was also tested non-live in the division and is being used to help provide support for VAR in making quicker calls when it comes to offside.

It relies on optical player tracking and virtual graphics to provide swifter and clearer placing of the lines involved in the decision-making process.

The Premier League stated that it has “worked in collaboration with PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Board) and sports data and technology company Genius Sports” to develop the new system.

The first league match to use it will be Manchester City’s clash with Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 12 April (12:30 BST).
