Man Utd ‘receive’ £64m ‘offer’ to offload Red Devils flop with ‘new destination’ as Euro giants ‘lead’ transfer race

According to reports, Manchester United have ‘received’ a huge offer to sell Brazil international Antony with his form for Real Betis ‘not going unnoticed’.

Antony has failed to live up to expectations at Man Utd. He has never come close to living up to the reported £86m fee paid to sign him from Eredivisie giants Ajax in 2022.

Former boss Erik ten Hag identified the winger as a priority target after they worked together at Ajax, but he could not replicate his form for Ajax in a Man Utd shirt.

The 25-year-old only has 12 goals and five assists in his 96 appearances for Man Utd in all competitions, and he did not make a single Premier League start in 2024/25 before joining Real Betis on loan in January.

United head coach Ruben Amorim does not appear to be a fan of Antony as he sanctioned the winger’s exit in January, but he has returned to form in recent months.

Antony has four goals and four assists in his 12 appearances for Real Betis, as he’s boosted Man Utd’s chances of selling him for a decent fee this summer.

It has been reported that his valuation has been set at around £40m, but a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes claims Man Utd have ‘received’ an ‘offer worth up to £64m with add-ons from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, who are ‘leading’ the race to sign him.

It is suggested that Atletico Madrid’s proposal is ‘€45 million (£38m) fixed, with a further €30 million (£26m) in variables’.

Man Utd are expected to sign a new striker this summer and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has analysed their chances of signing Napoli outcast Victor Osimhen, who is among the leading scores in Europe.

Romano said: “The expectation is for Victor Osimhen to leave Galatasaray. He’s going back to Napoli and Napoli, that’s the indication I’m getting, want to sell the player as soon as possible.

“So forget about an Osimhen saga at the end of July, end of August, as we had last summer. Napoli don’t want to enter into the same situation.

“His clause is €75 million, but Napoli are open to finding a different solution even before, to find a solution already in June, that’s the idea, the ideal scenario for Napoli for the Osimhen story. There are several options. In England, we know English clubs are interested.

“For Man Utd, the interest is still there, but it is still not something guaranteed for Man Utd because of the salary, because it’s a very expensive package, and because Man Utd have several options, including [Liam] Delap and more players.

“Man United will sign a striker, but for Osimhen, at the moment, it’s not something guaranteed.”

United present first “official offer” for “best striker in the world”, Amorim will be on cloud nine – report

Manchester United’s previous Premier League game against Nottingham Forest saw the Red Devils register 23 shots, three times more than Nottingham Forest. Yet they lost 0-1.

How Ruben Amorim could do with a ruthless finisher with both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund struggling to find the back of the net while Alejandro Garnacho’s dip in form has come at the worst possible time.

The head coach wanted a reunion with Sporting CP protege Viktor Gyokeres but the Swede is hell-bent on playing Champions League football next season and hence, rejected a move to Old Trafford in January.

Which is why the 20-time English league champions have moved on to Victor Osimhen, who has set the Turkish league on fire during his loan spell with Galatasaray, netting 28 goals and registering five assists in 32 games.

Osimhen offer

Plenty of clubs are looking at signing the Nigerian including United and the 26-year-old has no qualms about playing at the Theatre of Dreams even without Champions League football.

He has already rejected Serie A clubs and now, as per Turkish journalist Arda Ozkurt, the three-time European champions along with a host of other clubs have submitted their proposals to the striker’s camp.

Arsenal ve Manchester United, Victor Osimhen için resmi tekliflerde bulunurken, Barcelona, Liverpool ve PSG oyuncunun durumunu yakından takip ediyor.

Eğer Osimhen kalmak isterse, Galatasaray Osimhen’in bonservisini alabilmek için fedakarlık yapmaya hazır.

— Arda Özkurt (@Ardaozkurtt) April 4, 2025

A few other clubs are monitoring proceedings with interest. Gala themselves are desperate to keep hold of the Napoli ace with Osimhen expected to relay his decision on his future this month.

“Arsenal and Manchester United have made official offers for Victor Osimhen, while Barcelona, Liverpool and PSG are keeping a close eye on the player’s situation.

“If Osimhen wants to stay, Galatasaray is ready to make sacrifices to get Osimhen’s transfer fee,” Ozkurt wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Can United afford him?

Napoli are eager to move him on but are looking to recoup his £63 million release clause in full while the Nigerian himself is reportedly demanding wages of £413,000 per week to sign on the dotted lines.

It remains to be seen if these humongous numbers can be renegotiated because United are unlikely to have the funds to mount such an extensive outlay on a single player.

There have been murmurs that only Saudi Pro League clubs can pay as much which might suggest the Nigeria international could be headed to the Middle East.

An intriguing summer transfer window awaits and the Old Trafford side are keeping backup options ready with Liam Delap a top target in case one of the aforementioned duo do not end up arriving.

One of Europe’s best managers prepared to spend €75m on United star ignored by Amorim – report

Diego Simeone-led Atletico Madrid are willing to spend big on Manchester United flop Antony, as per reports.

Ruben Amorim is struggling to get the best out of his attackers at United, with the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, and Joshua Zirkzee all failing to make a difference in the final third on a consistent basis.

However, the high-profile forwards the new United head coach ditched during the winter window are enjoying a great run of form away from Old Trafford’s scrutinised environment.

One such star is Antony, who has gone from an unwanted big-money flop at United to a fan favourite at Real Betis following his loan switch in January.

Manuel Pellegrini placed his trust in the Brazilian by making him a key part of Betis’ attack and he is repaying his manager’s faith straight away.

The 25-year-old has managed an impressive eight-goal involvement — four goals and four assists — in 12 appearances across all competitions. Los Verdiblancos, meanwhile, have won all of their last six games in LaLiga with Antony in their starting lineup.

A report in Spain suggests Europe’s biggest clubs are starting to take note of his renaissance, and Atletico are even prepared to splash a considerable figure.

As per Fichajes, Atletico have “expressed interest” in signing Antony ahead of the next season, as Simeone looks to strengthen his ageing attack with promising young players.

It is claimed that the elite Argentine manager is so determined to add the United man to his ranks that Atletico would be “willing to offer” up to €45 million fixed fee with a further €30m in add-ons, raising the total figure to €75m.

However, the Spanish outlet suggest that Antony’s preference is to continue at the Benito Villamarín.

The ex-Ajax man is happy with his stint in Seville and has reportedly asked United “for a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.”

Several figures at Betis, including Antony’s teammate Isco, want him to remain at the club but it is highly unlikely that they would be able to meet United’s demands.

Man Utd transfer: £40m target told to snub Red Devils to join ‘perfect’ Nottm Forest for three reasons

Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap has been urged to reject Manchester United and join Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest this summer.

Delap left boyhood club Man City during last summer’s transfer window to join newly-promoted Ipswich in a deal worth around £20m.

The 22-year-old has been one of the breakout stars in the Premier League this season as he has grabbed 12 goals and two assists in his 30 appearances.

Ipswich are set to be relegated after their damaging 2-1 loss against 17th-placed Wolves, but Delap is expected to remain in the Premier League amid interest from several sides.

There is a £40m release clause in Delap’s contract and journalist Ben Jacobs claims the talented forward is attracting interest from Man Utd and Chelsea.

“Liam Delap high in the thinking of Chelsea and Manchester United,” Jacobs revealed.

READ: Reassigning the ten best players set to be relegated to Premier League vultures

“Still an open race, with Delap focused on trying to keep Ipswich up. Suitors with European football likely to have an advantage.”

Man Utd need to sign a new striker and Delap would be a cheaper alternative to Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen, who are contenders to be this year’s top scorer in Europe.

However, former Premier League forward Stan Collymore reckons Delap should snub Man Utd for Nottm Forest, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side the “perfect fit” because they “suit his style” and are “on the up”, while they have also “turned the fortunes” of three players.

“If I was Liam Delap, I would not join Man United this summer,” Collymore told Caught Offside.

“I think they are not a credible enough team at the moment in terms of competing next season – maybe they can do it in the Carabao Cup or the FA Cup, but they certainly would not be able to do it in the Premier League.

“Instead, he should consider joining someone like Nottingham Forest, who are putting their mouth where their mouth is.

“All he needs to go is look at guys like Anthony Elanga, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Chris Wood, who have turned their fortunes around over the last 12 months, and they are now thriving – especially this season.

“I think Delap would enjoy playing there, especially if Forest were to qualify for next season’s Champions League. And in Nuno Espirito Santo, he would be playing for a manager that loves to counter-attack, and that would suit his style a lot more that if he were to go to Old Trafford in the summer.

“Forest are undoubtedly a club on the up. They are a big club with knowledgeable supporters, and I think it would be a perfect fit for him to make the move there in the summer when he inevitable leaves Ipswich.”

Who is your United Women Player of the Month for March?

Since returning to the club on the back of winning last season’s PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year award while on loan at Tottenham, Grace has gone from strength to strength and been integral to a term that sees the Reds entering the run-in fighting for Champions League football.

Our no.8 – signed from Everton in the summer of 2022 – made her debut for the club on the opening day of the campaign and has now featured in 22 of our 25 matches across all competitions, including all five during her award-winning March.

Clinton helped the Reds to beat Leicester in the WSL and Sunderland in the FA Cup, as well as starting our sole loss of the five at Liverpool, before netting in the league wins over Aston Villa and Everton to round out the month on a high.

The long-range nature of her brilliant strike away to Villa means it’s sure to be a strong contender to win the team’s Goal of the Season accolade come the summer, while her close-range flick against Everton ensured she scored in both our league victories over her former club in 2024/25.

Only Terland (11) has more United goals this season than Clinton, who now has three Player of the Month trophies to show for her campaign to date, having previously won the same award in September and October.

February’s winner Terland scored two goals of her own in March while third-placed Galton got three and an assist, providing strong competition that Grace was able to edge out in order to complete a commendable hat-trick.

Thank you to everyone who voted.

Man Utd, Arsenal ‘make official offers’ for lethal striker but he ‘wants’ transfer to another PL club

Man Utd and Arsenal have made ‘official offers’ for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer, according to reports.

The Red Devils having a poor season in the Premier League with Ruben Amorim’s side remaining 13th in the table after their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest in midweek.

Performances and results have got worse since Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag in November and now their only hope of a trophy comes in the Europa League after exited the FA Cup earlier this year.

Man Utd have struggled to score goals in the Premier League this season with only five clubs scoring fewer than the Red Devils.

Hojlund – who signed from Atalanta for £72m in the summer of 2023 – has scored just three Premier League goals in 25 appearances for Man Utd this term, while Joshua Zirkzee has also scored three.

Both players have come in for criticism with Hojlund going on a run of 20 matches without scoring in all competitions before scoring against Leicester City in mid-March.

And now Man Utd are looking for a new striker with Napoli striker Osimhen – who is currently on loan Galatasaray – becoming one of their top targets.

Arsenal are also looking for a striker as they have been caught short with just Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus – who are both now injured – their main centre-forward options.

Football Transfers added:

‘Chelsea are determined to sign a new centre forward during the 2025 summer transfer window and the west London giants are ready to rekindle their interest in Osimhen, FootballTransfers has been told.

Video: United forward scores double hat-trick in double digit victory for u18s

Manchester United u18s hosted Leeds United at Carrington on Saturday morning.

Looking to bounce back from their devastating FA Youth Cup exit during the week, Adam Lawrence’s side were hot out of the gates with an early lead just a minute in.

Amir Ibragimov stole the ball in the Leeds area and was hacked down in the process to earn a penalty. Victor Musa was denied from the spot but was quick to react to finish the rebound.

Jayden Ngwashi the slipped Musa through into the box minutes later as Musa turned his marker inside onto his stronger left boot to finish low past the keeper.

Musa completed his hat-trick inside 15 minutes when Dan Armer’s phenomenal cross field ball found Samuel Lusale on the right wing, who had his shot saved. However, Musa was on hand again for an easy tap in to make it 3-0.

The goals were only getting started though, Musa added his fourth two minutes later. Picking the ball up on the right wing, Musa cut inside and curled a perfectly placed shot into the bottom left corner.

Musa’s fifth of the match came in the 25th minute and was perhaps the best of the lot. Ibragimov started the attack before Musa initially had his strike blocked, but the ball bounced up kindly for him to volley with his right boot into the top corner.

On the half hour mark, a new name finally joined the scoresheet when Jim Thwaites curled one of his patented free kicks over the wall and into the top left corner.

Despite the comfortable score line, Ibragimov led a relentless press which saw him force a turnover in the box before laying off to Thwaites for an easy finish.

The duo combined again just 30 seconds later when Ibragimov cut inside two defenders to lay it on a plate for Thwaites to complete his hat-trick.

The first half was rounded off with Musa’s sixth of the match, scoring from close range after Dante Plunkett’s cross was deflected to make it 9-0. This bettered the score in the reverse fixture of 8-0.

Into the second half and United didn’t look like letting up as they made it 10 within minutes of the restart. A new scorer joined the list as James Bailey smashed the ball into the top left corner after Musa’s lay-off.

With United taking their foot off the gas, Leeds capitalised on their casualness in possession with Kenneth Mensah dispossessing Zach Baumann before applying a quick finish to pull one back at 10-1.

Dan Armer then got forward to head home from Jack Fletcher’s corner delivery.

JJ Gabriel came off the bench in the 64th minute to become United’s youngest ever player for the u18s.

Gabriel showed why he was given the chance by scoring twice to finish the scoring at 13-1.

Gabriel turned well in the box after Jacob Devaney’s pass to slot low past the keeper for his first before he did excellently on his second goal.

The 14 year old controlled down Plunkett’s cross under pressure before shifting past his marker and slotting into the bottom right corner.

United’s u18s are next in action next Saturday when they travel to take on Nottingham Forest.

United’s 14-yo “Kid Messi” scores sensational brace on his 30-minute debut for the U18s

Manchester United’s 14-year-old phenomenon, J. J. Gabriel scored a brace on his debut for the Under 18s today.

The starlet, already known as “Kid Messi”, was promoted to Adam Lawrence’s treble-winning side a few weeks ago and finally took to the pitch today with 30 minutes left and United an incredible 11-1 up against Leeds United at the time.

In doing so, he became the youngest ever player to play for United’s Under 18s.

United went on to put two more past the hapless Leeds defence, both of which came from the prodigy after he had replace hat-trick hero Jim Thwaites.

Both were cool finishes from inside the box.

He also made some good runs, displaying his deft footwork and trickery and was unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when he was fouled in the box.

He certainly did not look overawed despite playing at a level four years above his own.

Another pleasing aspect of his cameo performance was his penchant for playing down the channels, something Ruben Amorim will be watching with interest for the future, although he will have to wait at least two years before the winger can play in the Premier League.

Gabriel’s progress through the ranks has attracted the attention of the world’s media and commercial sponsors.

Nike recently signed the youngster to a long-term deal, announcing that they believe “JJ can be Nike’s next in line for Ronaldo’s throne”.

Victor Musa was also making headlines in the game, having scored a double hat-trick.

Manchester United responded to FA Youth Cup semi-final heartbreak with a ruthless league victory over Leeds at Carrington on Saturday lunchtime.

Captain Victor Musa scored a first-half double hat-trick, with Jim Thwaites also netting three, in an utterly dominant display from Adam Lawrence’s young Reds.

Leeds offered greater resistance after the break and scored through Kenneth Mensah, although only after James Bailey had thumped one home to reach double digits. Dan Armer and Gabriel – an U14 on as a substitute – brought up United’s dozen late on, with the latter scoring twice.

Victory and three points keeps United in the U18 Premier League North title race. Lawrence’s side trail Manchester City by five points, but have a game in hand on the Blues, who defeated Wolves on Saturday.

FIRST HALF

Seeking intensity after Monday’s cup setback, lead coach Lawrence was delighted with his side’s ferocious start. Amir Ibragimov earned a second-minute penalty when controlling a loose ball before his opponent, which provided skipper Musa with an immediate chance to open his account. Leeds shot-stopper Oliver Wood saved a tame effort from Musa, but that would be a rare error from the forward in an otherwise stellar half. He pounced on the rebound to give United an early lead.

Bright play from Lusale teed Ibragimov up for a shot soon after, which Wood saved. Midfielder Zach Baumann found space in the immediate aftermath and contributed a deceiving curler which came off the left post.

Musa’s second followed when Jayden Ngwashi played a fine throughball from centre-back. Musa used his body well to keep his man away from the ball, creating a gap to set it onto his left, with which he finished into the bottom right corner.

Jim Thwaites had a shot blocked before Musa completed the first of two hat-tricks. After his second was created by Ngwashi, fellow central defender Dan Armer helped with the third. His lovely crossfield ball was touched down excellent by Lusale before he drove down the right-wing and forced a save from Wood. Again, Musa was onto the rebound to finish.

His fourth was the best yet, cutting inside and curling one into the bottom left corner, while his fifth showed his surging confidence. Again, he retained possession while defenders threw legs at him, had his first attempt blocked but swung at the loose bouncing ball, striking it cleanly into the back of the net.

Musa shot over when cutting in again a minute later before a direct free-kick from Thwaites made it six before the half-hour mark. Leeds threatened for the first time with their own free-kick which United goalkeeper Cameron Byrne-Hughes saved with ease.

Good pressing and composure from Ibragimov then created two further goals in quick succession for Thwaites. On both occasions, Ibragimov unselfishly set up his team-mate who was in a slightly better position to finish.

Musa crowned off a fantastic opening 45 minutes with a ninth for United. Left-back Dante Plunkett’s blocked cross fell to the 18-year-old and he lashed another home to complete his double hat-trick.

SECOND HALF

James Bailey’s thumping strike saw United reach double digits shortly after the break, but Leeds retained their heads and found one of their own when Kenneth Mensah robbed Baumann of the ball and finished past Byrne-Hughes.

From then, Leeds had stemmed the United flow. Gabriel, an U14 player, came on for hat-trick scorer Thwaites, with second-year scholars Jaydan Kamason, Jacob Devaney and Jack Fletcher soon also on.

Skipper and right-back Coban Bird cut inside to test Byrne-Hughes with a left-footed curler in a good spell for Leeds, but Armer helped Fletcher’s corner home to give United another goal.

Gabriel teed up Lusale for a right-footed strike which cannoned off the crossbar before Musa also struck the woodwork with an attempt a moment later.

United’s dozen came up with a tidy finish from Gabriel, who added another with his left in the dying moments.

Amorim ‘wants Man Utd star out’ as Red Devils boss makes ‘discontent known’ to board

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim is looking to get one of his players out of the club at the end of the season, according to reports.

The Red Devils are having a terrible campaign with INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe making the decision to sack Erik ten Hag and replace him with Ruben Amorim in November.

Man Utd are currently 13th in the Premier League after their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest in midweek and Amorim is already coming under pressure to turn around results and performances.

The strikers at Old Trafford have come under particular scrutiny this season with Rasmus Hojlund and Zirkzee scoring just five Premier League goals between them this season.

Only five Premier League sides have scored fewer goals than Man Utd this season and their attack could require some major surgery in the summer.

One player who doesn’t seem to suit Amorim’s style of play and tactics is Alejandro Garnacho with Spanish publication Fichajes claiming that the Argentina international is ‘the player Amorim wants out’ at Old Trafford.

The Man Utd winger ‘could leave Old Trafford in the summer as he does not have the approval of’ Amorim with his future at the Premier League club ‘beginning to look uncertain’.

Amorim has ‘made his discontent with the player’s defensive commitments known on more than one occasion’ and the youngster could be one of the first players out of the door in the summer.

The report adds: ‘The Portuguese manager’s arrival has shaken up several foundations at Old Trafford, and the South American’s case could be one of the first to be resolved during the summer transfer window.’

Fichajes continues:

‘In the eyes of the new manager, his attacking prowess doesn’t seem to compensate for his shortcomings in defensive play and teamwork. Amorim, who prioritizes tactical intensity and discipline, doesn’t see in the Argentine the committed player profile he demands for a long-term competitive team.

‘Although the striker’s talent is undeniable, his development has stalled in recent months. Opportunities have dwindled as the matchdays have passed, and rumors of a possible exit from the club have begun to grow louder. Teams in Italy and Spain have reportedly shown initial interest, knowing that this could be a market opportunity if United ultimately decides to open the door to him.

‘Those close to the player haven’t ruled out a move in search of playing time and confidence.’
