BACK David Tully Nov 21st 2025 Man Utd do “like” Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi but the chances of the player moving to Old Trafford rely on several factors, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. Speaking on The United Stand YouTube channel, Jacobs said the Red Devils would consider signing the England international on a free, but the player would want first-team guarantees and Champions League football: “I think for the summer [a deal is possible]. So the feeling is that in January, Marc Guehi naturally can be available because Palace can cash in a fee, but there are a lot of variables.” “Not much to get excited about yet. Yes, they like him. Yes, they see there’s value there, but I don’t see them bidding for Marc Guehi in January, and then come the free agency market, if that’s what happens with Guehi.” “I think it’ll be a bit like Liam Delap, where they’d have to be able to pitch Marc Guehi regular starting spots and likely Champions League football.” Guehi is set to leave Palace next year The 25-year-old’s contract at Selhurst Park expires at the end of the season and Eagles head coach Oliver Glasner has already confirmed that he won’t sign an extension. While there is a chance that a team will make a bid for Guehi in January, it is more likely that he will move on a free transfer at the start of July. Man Utd will have to battle several clubs for the defender Guehi won’t be short of suitors due to his potential free agent status. Liverpool are still interested despite failing to secure his signature on Deadline Day in September. The former Chelsea centre-back is also expected to receive approaches from Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
