Bayern Munich in talks to sign unpopular United player, fans will be astounded – report

Bayern Munich have emerged as a shock contender to sign Manchester United loanee Antony, as per reports.

United showed Antony the exit door during the winter transfer window after Erik ten Hag’s disastrous signing failed to impress Ruben Amorim during the Portuguese head coach’s early days in Manchester.

Amorim handed the 24-year-old zero Premier League starts and United eventually decided to loan him out to Real Betis for the remainder of the season.

The ex-Ajax sensation has surprisingly enjoyed a promising start in Spain, having scored two goals in his first three appearances. He was also named Man of the Match in his first two games for Los Verdiblancos.

Such has been his early impression that Betis chief executive Ramon Alarcon suggested that the Spanish club could keep the player on a permanent basis.

Bayern Munich interested in Manchester United winger Antony

Fichajes have now gone a step further, claiming one of Europe’s biggest clubs have shown interest in signing the Brazilian.

According to the Spanish outlet, Bayern have opened talks with United to explore the possibility of signing Antony.

The Brazil international’s dribbling and speed in Betis colours have impressed many clubs but it is the German giants who have put themselves in the driving seat to secure his services.

The Bavarians are in the market to reinforce their flanks as both Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman could leave the club at the end of the campaign.

It is suggested that Antony’s experience and profile “would fit perfectly” in the Bundesliga.

United signed the right-winger from Ajax in a deal worth €95 million. However, his frustrating showings in England have convinced the club’s hierarchy that he has no future at Old Trafford.

Accordingly, United are willing to part ways with the player for a fee in the region of €50m — a figure that Bayern could supposedly afford “without too much trouble.”

It is claimed that the negotiations between the two clubs have already started and if he continues to show his skill sets under Manuel Pellegrini in Spain, his move to the Bundesliga outfit could be “finalised in the coming months.”
