He’s at United at the minute. They’re just assessing him, and then I think in the coming weeks, we’ll just decide his plan regarding his rehab,” said Mason after West Brom’s 3-2 win over Swansea City last Saturday.Collyer will be keen to return to action as soon as he gets the green light(Photo by Stephen Pond/Getty Images)There are hopes at The Hawthorns that Collyer will be able to resume the remainder of his season-long loan spell in the New Year and continue playing a key role as they try and mount a promotion charge in the second half of the term.Prior to his departure, the 21-year-old racked up 13 senior appearances for United since making his debut in the Community Shield final against Manchester City last August. His first taste of Premier League action came in the form of a 45-minute cameo in a defeat to Liverpool the following month, while he was also granted his European debut in a Europa League group-stage clash at home to Rangers last term.Over the summer, Collyer had his pick of the bunch when it came to where he’d be spending the 2025/2026 campaign, as he received approaches from more than a ‘dozen’ Championship sides. He eventually settled for the Black Country outfit, where he has since accumulated 12 league appearances. Will Collyer be a part of United’s squad in 26/27?(Photo by Richard Heathcote/Getty Images)Given there is no buy option or clause included in his terms with the Baggies, he will return to Manchester next summer to hold talks with Ruben Amorim and the board over his future – and whether it lies at Old Trafford or elsewhere.Collyer is tied down to a deal until June 2027, plus the option of an additional 12 months.
