Bruno Fernandes has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for April.

As always, you voted in your thousands to decide the star man from this period, and the captain has followed up his successes in February and March with his third award of the 2024/25 season.

It is a testament to his consistency and influence, as we approach the end of the campaign, with the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Club very much the priority for Ruben Amorim’s Reds.

Who was United’s Player of the Month in April?

Fernandes kept his nerve to score the penalty that kept our hopes alive in the competition, sparking the incredible comeback against Lyon in the home leg of the quarter-final.

He had earlier struck the bar with a superb volley on full stretch and was instrumental in the 5-4 victory on the night at Old Trafford.

When you consider he was also Man of the Match in the games against Manchester City and Bournemouth, and provided a gorgeous assist for Joshua Zirkzee in the away game in Lyon, it is easy to see why he came out on top of the poll again.

Harry Maguire, scorer of the unforgettable headed winner against Lyon, finished in second spot, with his 27 per cent a little way off the 39 per cent Bruno logged.

Reliable centre-back Maguire was also runner-up to Fernandes in February.

Casemiro, another clutch performer towards the end of the tie with the French side, was just behind, ensuring a second successive third-placed finish in our Player-of-the-Month voting.

Leny Yoro finished fourth.

Thanks to everyone who contributed and congratulations to Bruno!

Meanwhile, well done to Kobbie Mainoo for winning our Goal-of-the-Month accolade for April.

The substitute’s brilliant effort to level the scores, on the night, at 4-4 with Lyon, came out first in the vote, which was no mean feat when it was also up against Maguire’s winner soon afterwards!

Harry’s header finished a close second in the poll.
