Another major breakthrough as United reach “verbal agreement” to sign 22-yo midfield sensation – report

Manchester United are working on signing a new midfielder for Ruben Amorim.

United have reached an agreement with Brentford for the signing of Bryan Mbeumo after what has been a drawn-out transfer saga.

In less than a week, the Red Devils will fly to Chicago for their pre-season tour. As such, the club’s hierarchy are running out of time to strengthen other areas of their squad.

However, a report in Italy suggests United have made a lot of progress in their bid to sign a new midfielder.

Javi Guerra agrees to join Manchester United

Early this month, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are interested in signing Javi Guerra from Valencia.

Now, Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo claims that United have reached a “verbal agreement” with the Spanish midfielder.

The 2003-born midfielder is one of the most highly-rated midfield prospects in La Liga, having impressed with this elegance in possession and intensity out of it. The box-to-box midfielder is a powerful runner, who possesses a lot of technical ability.

Valencia are keen to hand him a new contract as his current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2027.

However, Longo claims that the Spaniard is “leaning towards” rejecting Valencia’s proposal. Instead, he has given his word to the Red Devils, who are yet to find an agreement with the La Liga outfit over his transfer fee.

The Italian journalist adds that there is interest from others clubs in Spain and England as well. AC Milan have also been strongly linked with the midfielder but they are now focusing on securing the services of Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge.

Manchester United linked with Morten Hjulmand

Revamping the midfield seems to be United’s new priority, as in recent days, the Mancunians have been linked with a number of midfielders.

Recently, a report in Portugal suggested the Premier League giants are among the clubs monitoring Morten Hjulmand’s situation at Sporting CP.

The Denmark international, who thrived as a holding midfielder under Amorim, is also being chased by Inter Milan and Juventus.
