Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has provided a positive update on the injury Ayden Heaven sustained during our Premier League win at Leicester City last time out.

The young defender was forced off during the early stages of the second half at the King Power Stadium, following a painful-looking challenge with Foxes striker Patson Daka.

Heaven looked to be in pain while exiting the pitch and it was a disappointing setback for the prospect, after recent standout performances against Real Sociedad and former club Arsenal.

Following a period of assessment at Carrington over the international break, it has emerged that Ayden’s injury is not as bad as initially feared.

The good news, according to Ruben, is that he will play against this season.

Speaking to reporters on Monday afternoon, to preview United’s return to Premier League action at Nottingham Forest, Amorim gave this update on his young defender.

“It was not so serious so he is recovering. He is not ready to play [against Forest] but he is going to return this season, for sure.”
