One of the silver linings in Manchester United’s recent past amid a very troubled time at the club from a sporting perspective was the emergence of young academy talents like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
The former, in particular, was expected to be the star of the show in the coming years, dazzling fans with the promise he showed very early on under Erik ten Hag. However, the Argentinian’s development has stalled over the past season.

Garnacho now finds himself out of the project under Ruben Amorim after falling out with the Portuguese tactician.
The ex-Sporting CP manager’s decision to leave him out of the starting XI for the Europa League final against Tottenham in favor of Mason Mount didn’t go down well with the player.
Now, as per Give Me Sport, after holding private talks regarding the player’s future, Man Utd are now ready to press to secure the sale of Alejandro Garnacho in the coming days. However, it is not as easy as it seems.
Despite there not being any shortage of interest in the £60million-rated player, it must be said that Garnacho’s personal desire to continue in the Premier League has kind of limited Man Utd’s options, ruling out the likes of Napoli.
In the Premier League, Tottenham, Chelsea and Aston Villa are all said to be interested in the 21-year-old forward but that hasn’t translated into a formal offer yet this summer.
What this means is Man Utd now have a player in their ranks they have no future for.
Even as Ruben Amorim continues to build towards the new season, he will know that it is important to move on the players who he doesn’t seem to fancy. It would help the club make further reinforcements to strengthen the squad.
One good thing for Man Utd is Garnacho is one of those players who came through the academy and retains an excellent market value. Unlike the likes of Jason Sancho or Antony, the club don’t need to take a loss when selling him and this should help facilitate an exit in the coming days.

Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
