Marcus Rashford has been offered a sensational way out of Manchester United thanks to interest from Saudi Arabia, according to reports.

As per talkSPORT, Saudi Pro League clubs including Al Ittihad – currently managed by former United centre-back Laurent Blanc – “have been put on alert” after Rashford was left out of the Manchester derby on Sunday.

The report claims that while the 27-year-old is “reluctant” to quit his boyhood club, “senior figures at United feel a parting of the ways would be best for both parties”.

Reports surfaced earlier in the month that Rashford was ready to leave United having “had enough”.

According to talkSPORT, though, the Englishman is keen to stay at the club and try to fight his way back into the national side ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

But based on current form he couldn’t be further from Thomas Tuchel’s plans, so United’s “senior figures” may be correct in saying that a change of scene is best for everyone.

Despite scoring the first goal of the Ruben Amorim era just 80 seconds into the 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town, the 27-year-old has had a poor season yet again and looks uninterested on the pitch.

His torrid form left him sidelined for one of the biggest games of United’s season at the weekend, and according to the report, this was enough for Saudi clubs to sit up and take notice – although no further details have been given on that front.

Only one side has actually been named with United “open to offers for their academy poster boy as Amorim attempts to clean up the culture in his dressing room”, referring to rampant rumours that the player’s off-field behaviour is concerning the management.

However, the report notes that Rashford’s colossal wages, thought to be north of £300,000 a week, drastically shrink the number of clubs able to make a move for him.

Whenever big names and big money have been mentioned, links with Saudi Pro League clubs are never far away, and reports in the summer claimed Saudi teams were willing to spend up to €100m on the Carrington graduate.

While a Rashford exit looks more likely than ever before, it would be a huge shock to see him depart for Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career.

More believably he has also been linked with Barcelona. A January move to Arsenal has now been ruled out.
