Manchester United Women return to Barclays Women’s Super League action on Sunday, with a trip to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City.
Marc Skinner’s side remain unbeaten across all competitions in the 2024/25 season, but will be aiming to get back to winning ways following draws against Brighton, Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Our most recent opponent, the Villans, are as yet the only team to prevent the Reds scoring during this campaign, meaning the Foxes will need to be on top defensive form to stop United finding the net in Sunday’s meeting.

TEAM NEWS
Reds defender Evie Rabjohn won’t be available for this Sunday’s clash due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, which she picked up on international duty with England Under-21s back in July.
Both Anna Sandberg and Leah Galton are nursing shorter-term issues. The duo missed out on the matchday squad for the Villa game, but Skinner revealed in last week’s press conference that the pair are back training with the team, so could soon be closing in on a return.
Updates on those two, plus any fresh concerns, could be give by Marc in his pre-Leicester press conference.
The hosts are dealing with a handful of injuries, with Noemie Mouchon, Jutta Rantala and Lena Petermann all expected to miss the match with long-term issues.
Shannon O’Brien and Samantha Tierney have also been absent in recent weeks with their own fitness concerns, but timeframes on their expected return dates are less clear. As with Skinner, further information may be divulged by manager Amandine Miquel in her meeting with the press ahead of the game.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The Reds remained unbeaten by Leicester in three meetings last season. The first, a home clash at Leigh Sports Village last October, ended in a 1-1 draw, with our now-captain Maya Le Tissier notching the equaliser.
The second of these fixtures came just under two months later, once again at LSV but this time in the Conti Cup, with Lucia Garcia, Lisa Naalsund and Katie Zelem getting on the scoresheet to seal a 3-1 victory in the group-stage game.
Finally, and most recently, we travelled to the King Power for a WSL fixture in April this year, where a late Ella Toone strike — an audacious curled effort from outside of the box, having only been substituted on ten minutes prior — gave us a slender 1-0 lead that Skinner’s side held until the final whistle.
CURRENT FORM
As previously mentioned, the Reds head into Sunday’s game still unbeaten across all competitions in the 2024/25 season, but have not managed to claim a win in our past three outings, something Skinner will be keen to address to return to the very high standards set so far this term.
That strong start to the campaign has left us in fifth place in the WSL table, with a game in hand on every team in the league other than Chelsea.
The Foxes have suffered a somewhat rockier start to their season, having registered just one win in their opening eight games across all competitions, that victory coming against Everton in a league meeting at the King Power.
Although Miquel’s team have had a difficult start on paper, they have only conceded more than single goal on one occasion so far this season, a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace, so the hosts will ensure Sunday is no walk in the park for United.
