Whether Marcus Rashford stays or leaves Manchester United is still a mystery.
Over the last few weeks, however, the narrative has shifted, with suggestions now emerging that he could remain.
Reports suggest Michael Carrick is eager to work with him, which has led Ineos to consider reintegrating him into the team.
These suggestions have been followed by clear hints that he is part of the plan for next season.
But while United fans were coming to terms with the fact that Rashford might stay, an interesting claim has emerged, according to talkSPORT.
Rashford still expected to leave
The reputable Premier League news source states, “United are still expected to try and offload the academy graduate before the end of the summer, with the club keen to get his wages of more than £325,000-a-week off the payroll.
“Rashford is expected to be available for a cut-price £30 million.”
The outlet goes on to reveal that a battle for the Englishman could now come down to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Of the two, however, Tottenham look more likely to land Rashford, as the report suggests Mikel Arteta might not be so eager to sign him.
Arteta not keen on Rashford signing
Arteta’s stance will puzzle many, especially given that it is the worst-kept secret that Arsenal need a left winger.
Rashford, who is coming off a fantastic run with Barcelona where he scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in 49 games, could easily elevate any top Premier League side.
So even if Spurs do not end up pouncing on the Rashford cut-price deal, it would not be a bad idea for United to keep him.
