The report states: “Fenerbahce are determined to keep hold of Archie Brown despite growing interest from the Premier League, TEAMtalk understands.” “Nottingham Forest saw an approach rejected earlier this summer, and TEAMtalk can reveal that intermediaries have since sounded out both Chelsea and Manchester United over whether either club would be interested in pursuing a deal.” The report states that Chelsea have identified Brown as a possible replacement for Marc Cucurella, while adding that the player has been on the Red Devils’ wish list for a while. United have tracked Brown since his time with Genk and have never lost sight of him after his move to Turkey last summer. It now appears that they have rekindled their interest in the Englishman this year. However, prising him away from St James’ Park could prove to be a futile affair, prompting INEOS to consider alternatives. Blessed with exceptional pace, the 24 year old is a modern attacking full-back who is also versatile enough to operate higher up the pitch. Brown rose through the ranks at Derby County and is aware of the rigours of English football, although he has never played in the Premier League. However, that has not deterred United, who are reportedly convinced by his performances in Istanbul. However, TEAMtalk insists that Fenerbahce have no desire to part ways with their prized asset, concluding: “Despite that interest, TEAMtalk understands Fenerbahce have no desire to sanction a sale. Club sources remain firm that Brown is part of their long-term plans and, as things stand, there is little indication they are prepared to entertain offers this summer.” Final Thoughts Brown is under contract until 2028, so this summer could represent the final chance for Fenerbahce to secure a sizeable transfer fee for his signature.
