European side enter race for red-hot United starlet no longer in INEOS plans – report

Manchester United sorted out their goalkeeping department last summer by investing in Senne Lammens. The Belgian custodian was a relatively unknown figure but became a household name following an impressive debut campaign with the Red Devils. Lammens’ stunning form has all but ended the error-prone Andre Onana’s chances of salvaging his Old Trafford career. The Cameroonian spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor, and a recent report relayed by The Peoples Person suggests that he is all set for a second temporary stint with the Turkish club. Meanwhile, Altay Bayindir’s future also remains up in the air at the moment. The Turkey international is behind Lammens in the pecking order and has also been linked with an exit from the Theatre of Dreams. Another player whose future at United could be affected by the Belgian custodian’s arrival is Radek Vitek. Impressing on loan Vitek joined United’s academy from Sigma Olomouc in the summer of 2020 as a 16 year old and caught the eye in the youth ranks. After successful loan spells with Accrington Stanley and Blau-Weiß Linz, the custodian signed a new contract with the Red Devils and moved to Championship side Bristol City last summer. Vitek was a revelation with the Robins last season, registering 12 clean sheets in 41 appearances in the Championship. The 22 year old is highly rated at the Theatre of Dreams, but has little chances of dislodging Lammens from the No. 1 spot. There is a belief that Vitek is too good to warm the bench either, presenting United with a dilemma. A recent report relayed by The Peoples Person suggests that the Red Devils are willing to cash in on their academy graduate this summer for £10 million amid interest from Hull City and Coventry City. It now appears that another suitor has entered the race for the player. Rangers want United academy graduate According to Sky Sports, Rangers are looking for a new goalkeeper this year and have Vitek on a four-man shortlist for the job. The report states: “Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek is another option also being considered by Rangers.” “Sky Sports News have previously reported he is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer.” Vitek’s contract at the Theatre of Dreams runs until 2028, and he is yet to make his first-team debut for the Red Devils. Final Thoughts Vitek’s future at United appears to be sealed by Lammens’ arrival, and it would be unfair to deny the talented Czech regular game time. The player’s departure could be recorded as pure profit in the books, which could also suit the Red Devils’ finances.
