Man Utd have added Newcastle defender Lewis Hall to their list of transfer targets, according to reports. Sky Sports claim that the Red Devils have been “impressed” by the 21-year-old’s performances this season. In addition to strengthening the club’s options in midfield and on the left wing, Director of Football Jason Wilcox is hoping to recruit a left-back. Luke Shaw remains a key player for United but competition for the 30-year-old is needed, with Tyrell Malacia set to leave this summer when his contract expires. Hall is the 4th Newcastle star to be linked with the Red Devils The England international is by no means the only Magpies star who United would be keen on signing at the end of the season. Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed reports that the club have held talks with the agent of Bruno Guimaraes. They have also made enquiries for Sandro Tonali, along with Manchester City. Last month, it was reported that Anthony Gordon could be targeted to reinforce the left flank. Sky, however, think that RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye are more likely to be targeted. Man Utd have more than one left-back on their shortlist Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown is another player that Wilcox and his recruitment team are believed to be big fans of. Considering he plays in the Bundesliga, he has likely been recommended by the club’s German Head of Recruitment, Christopher Vivell. Hall and Brown are seemingly the top names that the club are pursuing to strengthen the left-hand side of defence. Neither player is expected to be cheap. Hall does not have an asking price, but he cost £35m when he moved to St James’ Park from Chelsea. Reports in the German media claim that Frankfurt have slapped a €65m (£56m) price tag on Brown.
