United in hot pursuit of 6’3″ teenager compared to Declan Rice, record bid needed – report

Declan Rice is leading Arsenal’s title charge with resilient performances on a consistent basis and a number of clutch goals. Manchester United plan to sign a new midfield leader in the summer to immediately take their project to the next level, having registered their interest in the likes of Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimarães, and Adam Wharton.  However, a report suggests the Red Devils are also looking to sign a midfield prospect, regarded as the next Rice, for the future. Manchester United interested in Nathan De Cat According to Fussballdaten, Manchester United are monitoring Anderlecht sensation Nathan De Cat. Their scouts were present in Bruges to watch the midfielder against Club Brugge. The 17-year-old did not disappoint, scoring Anderlecht’s first goal in the 2-2 draw in the Belgian Pro League clash. Standing at 6’3″ tall, De Cat is surprisingly very smooth with the ball at his feet, capable of gliding past defenders with relative ease. However, his most impressive trait is his game intelligence, given his age.  De Cat has already shown that he is capable of dictating the tempo of the game through his ball-carrying and passing. Accordingly, the Anderlecht prodigy has drawn comparisons to Declan Rice. In a recent interview, he admitted that the Arsenal midfielder is one of the players he idolises. Anderlecht set Nathan De Cat price tag Anderlecht’s desire is to keep hold of De Cat, who has made 36 appearances in all competitions for them. He has been directly involved in eight goals. However, with Europe’s biggest clubs, including United, circling, the Belgian outfit are aware it would be difficult to keep hold of him. As such, Anderlecht will “seriously consider” offers in the region of €35 million, ensuring his transfer would be a record sale for a teenager in Belgium. The report adds that De Cat’s suitors are “already working on blockbuster offers” for the summer transfer window. However, it fails to clarify if United are among those clubs.
