Manchester United are planning a major revamp across the pitch at the end of the season. While most fans are expecting reinforcements in midfield, INEOS have plans to upgrade in goal as well. Senne Lammens has proven himself to be worthy of the No.1 jersey, but the Red Devils want a quality backup given the uncertain futures of all three of their current options. Andre Onana, who is out on loan at Trabzonspor, has no future at Old Trafford and will most likely be sold once the window opens. Two goalies set to be sold Altay Bayindir is expected to follow suit, with Besiktas leading the chase for his signature. Tom Heaton’s contract is up in the summer. Which explains why, as per Football Insider, the 20-time English league champions are keen on a backup to provide competition for their Belgian custodian. “Man United are making plans to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window as they prepare to let two of their current options leave. “Andre Onana is currently on loan at Turkish outfit Trabzonspor and there is a growing feeling he will be allowed to leave permanently come the summer. Lammens’ backup to be recruited “Meanwhile, Altay Bayindir is believed to be closing in on a move away from Old Trafford with Besiktas the leading contender for his signature. “Senne Lammens has established himself as the undisputed number one under Michael Carrick, and any signing in the summer will likely be a backup for him.” Academy graduate Radek Vitek has been on fire for Bristol City and there are murmurs he could be included in the first-team squad next season. Whether that would stagnate his growth is a separate issue altogether. It will be interesting to see which goalkeeper ultimately gets drafted in.
