Music to United’s ears as ex-PL boss fires intriguing Cole Palmer transfer claim

Former Premier League and England manager Sam Allardyce has delivered an exciting claim about Chelsea star Cole Palmer sealing a potential switch to Manchester United. Palmer on United’s radar Palmer has emerged as one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023. He scored an outstanding 22 goals and provided an additional 11 assists in his debut season at Stamford Bridge. He followed that up with 15 goals and nine assists in 37 top-flight games last term. The England international has been plagued by injuries in the current campaign but he still boasts an impressive eight goals in 16 games. A boyhood United fan, Palmer has never been too far away from rumours that he could be joining United. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Red Devils are eyeing a move for Palmer, although he himself later rubbished such suggestions. However, a close friend of the Chelsea man recently set social media alight when he claimed that Palmer’s dream is to move to Old Trafford, noting that he would do everything to make it happen. Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has made it clear that he wants to continue working with Palmer but according to Allardyce, the Blues will likely accept an offer from United if they deem it enough. Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Allardyce argued that Chelsea are built to make profit above all else. Allardyce’s claim Allardyce said, “I think Chelsea would always sell at the right price. It’s whether Manchester United have the money that Chelsea would want.” “But it would certainly be a big signing for Manchester United.” He added, “What is he now? 22? 23? He’s just the right age, five, six, seven, eight years in him. This is a particular talent that shone from day one at Chelsea when he left City. Now, there’s been a bit of a lull.” “Because of the injury, but he will get back to where he was sooner rather than later. He’s a tremendous talent and I often think that Chelsea in their infrastructure, are always in a position to make a profit.” United return to action on Sunday when they host Crystal Palace. The meeting kicks off at 2pm. Featured image Shaun Botterill via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
