Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada has revealed that the club is starting to feel the benefits of the “off-pitch transformation” that was initiated by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, as the Red Devils announced their latest financial results. Financial results Earlier on Wednesday, United confirmed an operating profit of £32.6m for the six months to 31 December 2025. In contrast, United posted a loss of £3.9m for the same period 12 months ago. The operating profit for the most recent quarter stands at £19.6m, compared to £3.1m in the same period last year. But, United witnessed a fall in their revenues to £190.3m, down from £198.7m for the equivalent period the previous year. The club’s commercial revenue dropped from £85.1m to £78.5m and matchday revenues down from £52m to £49.5m but that has been due to the absence of Champions League football and reduced fixtures due to exiting both cup competitions at the first hurdle under Ruben Amorim. United withdrew an additional £25m on their rolling credit facility, which now stands at £295.7m. The 20-time English champions still have $650m worth of debt from the Glazer era. More than £500m is owed on transfers. The club paid out £13.9m in net finance costs, though this figure was substantially lower than the £37.6m from the year before. Berrada statement Berrada said in a statement, “We are now seeing the positive financial impact of our off-pitch transformation materialise both in our costs and profitability.” “We continue to take a football first approach and invest in both our men’s and women’s first teams. On the pitch our men’s team sits 4th in the Premier League and our women’s team are 2nd in the Women’s Super League, as well as reaching the League Cup Final and the quarter final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.” “Today’s results demonstrate the underlying strength of our business as we continue to push for the best football results possible for our Men’s and Women’s teams.” Upon completing his minority investment in February 2024, Ratcliffe rolled out a series of radical cost-cutting measures including making hundreds of staff redundant, cancelling some perks for employees and executives, doing away with Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassadorial contract and hiking ticket prices.
