Man United release statement amid Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s immigration controversy

Manchester United have released a statement following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s claims that the UK has been “colonised by immigrants.” Ratcliffe backlash Ratcliffe has sparked widespread backlash with his remarks, which he made at the European Industry Summit in Antwerp on Wednesday. In the interview with Sky News, Ratcliffe took aim at people receiving state support and immigrants, accusing them of draining the country’s resources and heaping further economic and social pressure on the state. Ratcliffe also cited incorrect figures regarding the population. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer led calls from politicians for Ratcliffe to issue an apology, which he did earlier today. Ratcliffe’s rhetoric has not gone unnoticed within the FA, which is considering whether he brought the game into disrepute, before deciding whether any rules were broken. Now, United have outlined their position in a statement, distancing themselves from the controversy.
