Scarlett Hill secures Sheffield United stay

Friday 06 February 2026 10:00Manchester United Women defender Scarlett Hill has joined second-tier side Sheffield United on an Academy dual registration loan for the remainder of the season. The 18-year-old’s progress in our youth ranks has seen her rewarded with several involvements in Marc Skinner’s matchday squad over the last two seasons. Hill first got the call-up for last February’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup win at Wolves, the earliest of the eight times she has been on the first-team bench, with four of those opportunities coming this term.Along with her appearances on the bench, Hill has also featured in first-team training. The young defender has also enjoyed senior exposure at international level over the last 12 months, receiving her maiden call-up to the Wales squad four days after the Wolves game. She was a training player for her nation at the summer’s UEFA Euro 2025 in Switzerland and has since made her senior bow, against Australia in October. That was the first of two caps Scarlett now has for her country, having also appeared in a clash with Poland, later in that October camp.Hill now heads to Yorkshire to join up with Sheffield United, and can still play for us as per the terms of the dual registration. The Blades are currently 10th in the 12-team WSL2, and managed by former WSL coach Stephen Healy, who took charge last month.
