“We talked about…”: Details of secret meeting set up by Carrick which sparked United hero back to life revealed

Another week, and Manchester United found yet another late winner, this time against Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday. Benjamin Sesko, who has yet to start a game under caretaker head coach Michael Carrick, came on to score in Fergie time to send the Stretford End wild. The Slovenian has not had a smooth start to life as a United player, scoring only twice under former head coach Ruben Amorim. But since the Portuguese’s departure, the 22-year-old has netted four times in as many games. And it seems he has had help. Benjamin Sesko got help As per Nogomania, Carrick had asked his former United teammate Dimitar Berbatov to help the United No.30 in front of goal. “At Carrick’s request, Dimitar Berbatov held a one-on-one conversation with Šeško, focusing on the specific demands of leading the line at Old Trafford. “Michael Carrick asked me to speak with Benjamin Šeško,” Berbatov revealed. “We mainly talked about positioning and decision-making in front of goal. Šeško is an outstanding striker and he has a bright future at Manchester United.” Now for more consistency The talk clearly paid off, as the young striker’s ice-cold finish under pressure showed what a mature head he has on his shoulders. The Bulgarian knows a thing or two about scoring in front of the Stretford End, having scored 56 times for the 20-time English league champions. Carrick will be hoping Benjamin Sesko can keep firing consistently in the weeks to come as United look to qualify for the Champions League next season. The Slovenia international will be hoping to earn a start soon, with a home tie against Tottenham Hotspur coming up next.
