“He’s telling us…”: United attacker reveals how Carrick’s simple mantra is working like a charm

Manchester United left it late to clinch a humdinger against Fulham 3-2 at Old Trafford on Sunday. This was the third straight win under Michael Carrick, and the belief shown by the players, especially after Fulham equalised in added time, was immense. Once again, the Red Devils found a winner late on, and once again, it was a substitute, this time Benjamin Sesko. Amad, who played a blinder against the Cottagers, was full of praise for the Slovenian after the game, revealing how chuffed his teammates are with him. Amad full of praise for Sesko The striker has not started a game under the caretaker head coach, but he has not let that bog him down, and produced the goods on Sunday in front of the Stretford End. The Ivorian reminded his teammates that anybody can become a hero, even from the bench, and it is important for the squad to stick together and fight for the same cause. “Benjamin deserves that. He always works hard in the training and he had his moment today. Everyone was happy for him, especially, the manager,” Amad told MUTV after the thriller. “Everyone is very important, Even those who are not playing. So we have to keep the momentum going and then going forward, try and end the season on a high. United cannot afford to relax The Ivory Coast international explained that the team cannot afford to relax and need to keep this winning run going when they face Tottenham Hotspur next week. “I think he (Sesko) enjoyed today. But we need to keep going like this. Next game is a new battle. It will be a tough game. We need to keep this momentum going, this spirit, and we have to keep the standard very high because we are Manchester United, and we are not afraid of anybody.” As for playing under Carrick, the former Atalanta ace revealed how the legendary midfielder has been motivating the players to ensure the team qualifies for the Champions League next season. “Michael Carrick, since he came in, has kept the vibes very high. He’s telling us that we play for Manchester United, [that] this is a big club for everyone, and we need to keep the standard very high.” “If we, if you want to play Champions League next season, we have to win every game. And we showed today we can every game. So we are really happy. We’re going to go step by step. The season is long. Anything can happen.” Feature image Matt McNulty via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
