Mbeumo, Dorgu and Cunha will dominate the talk but this standout United star was the real difference vs. Arsenal

Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates in Michael Carrick’s second game as interim head coach. Here are our player ratings from the game. (A score of 6 is around average) Senne Lammens 8 – Made an excellent save to deny Martin Zubimendi what seemed like a guaranteed goal in the first half. Brilliant during Arsenal’s set-piece routines, often coming out to claim the ball. Took no chances, going long at almost every opportunity. The goalscorers will hog the headlines but his impact was equally decisive. Diogo Dalot 6 – Solid on the right against a tricky customer in Leandro Trossard. Harry Maguire 6 – Another accomplished defensive performance. Won his duels and made easy work of Gabriel Jesus and substitute Viktor Gyokeres. Lisandro Martinez 5 – Excellent block to keep out a Declan Rice shot. Slightly unlucky for his role in Arsenal’s opener but he wasn’t fazed and enjoyed a good game from there Luke Shaw 6 – Mostly the same as Dalot and Maguire. Enjoyed a good contest against Bukayo Saka. Casemiro 7 – Brilliant in the middle of the park. Very good on the ball and did well to shield the back-four, especially when Arsenal were largely in control of the game. Having announced his exit last week, he promised to give it his all for the rest of the season and he certainly did so at the Emirates. Kobbie Mainoo 7 – Tidy and neat on the ball as usual, he diffused nervous situations with his calm and composure, which massively helped United against the table leaders. He also contributed defensively. Bruno Fernandes 7.5 – Delivered with trademark brilliance. Came close to scoring but was just thwarted by an Arsenal defender just as he pulled the trigger. Combined sublimely with Patrick Dorgu to give United the lead. Amad 6 – Decent. Patrick Dorgu 8 – He put United ahead with a stunning finish, capping off a fantastic exchange with Fernandes by firing a ferocious shot under the bar. Bryan Mbeumo 8 – Demonstrating razor-sharp instincts to sniff out a mistake in the Arsenal defence and punish it with a ruthless finish. Substitutes Matheus Cunha 8.5 – He made a sensational impact off the bench, responding to Arsenal’s equaliser with a stunning strike to put United back in front. Benjamin Sesko 5 – OK when he came on. Noussair Mazraoui 5 – Helped United get over the line Featured image Justin Setterfield via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
