CL club preparing €15m offer to beat United to the punch for Brazilian midfield dynamo – report

Manchester United are focusing all their attention on their search for a new manager, but squad reinforcements are likely to be on the club’s agenda as well. The Red Devils invested heavily in the attack in the summer of 2025 and have reaped the benefits this season. While United managed just 44 goals in 38 Premier League games last campaign, they have already found the back of the net 36 times in 21 games this term. However, the midfield remains an area of concern. Casemiro is out of contract in less than six months, while Bruno Fernandes is also on the wrong side of 30. Manuel Ugarte, on the other hand, has struggled to impress, and Kobbie Mainoo’s future remains uncertain. The Red Devils are expected to make the position a priority this year, with several players already linked with the club. A previous report by The Peoples Person has also named Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon as an option. Bidon’s rising stock in world football Bidon has caught the eye with the Brazilian side this season, making 56 appearances in all competitions, including 45 starts. He is now a first-team star for Corinthians, helping them win the State Championship and the Copa do Brasil this campaign. With Casemiro edging closer to the end of his time at the Theatre of Dreams, the 20 year old could even be his countryman’s long-term replacement. A previous report states that United could face competition from Sporting and Atletico Madrid, among others, in the race for the young midfielder. However, a recent update suggests that the Portuguese club has stepped up their pursuit of the player. Sporting preparing Bidon offer According to reports in Brazil via Sport Witness, Sporting are ready to offer €15 million for Bidon. They are already contemplating a move in the coming weeks as they lay the groundwork for the 2026/27 campaign. Previous reports have stated that Atletico Madrid offered €18 million for the Brazilian, but talks failed to progress as Corinthians wanted €20 million. Meanwhile, the Brazilian club has reportedly increased the valuation of their prized asset, and now want €30 million to let him go. The player is under contract until 2029 and reportedly has an €100 million release clause in his deal, so Corinthians will have the upper hand in any negotiations. Arsenal are also in the race and have recently established contact with the South American club to seek information about the possibility of a deal. Bidon’s European suitors value the player at around €15 million, which is complicating matters. Final Thoughts United have preferred Premier League-proven quality in recent times and are understandably enticed by the likes of Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton to address their midfield conundrum. However, Bidon already looks like a generational talent who could prove to be a shrewd bit of business in the coming years. The Red Devils, as such, should do everything possible to get a deal across the line, albeit on their own terms.
