“Determined” United star completes shock U-turn ahead of potential January exit, fans will be delighted – report

It has been a bleak last four months for Manchester United midfield wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo. Heralded as one of the best to emerge out of Carrington, the 20-year-old’s stock has fallen rapidly under Ruben Amorim. Not too long ago, he scored in the FA Cup final against Manchester City while starring for England in the Euros. And under the new head coach, the Englishman is yet to start a Premier League game this season, with Amorim not having confidence in his abilities of play as a defensive midfielder. Kobbie Mainoo-Amorim relationship at an all-time low The relationship between the pair is at an all-time low, further fueled by the stupid stunt the midfielder’s half-brother pulled at Old Trafford recently. He had asked INEOS to allow him to leave on loan in the summer, but his request was turned down with the co-owners urging him to fight harder to win back his place. While the England international had only wanted a loan exit, Amorim’s brutal treatment meant he was open to a permanent departure in January until the recent calf injury. That has all but ended chances of an exit, and now, as per The Sun, the Englishman is keen to fight for his place and is determined to prove his worth to his boyhood club. Kobbie Mainoo determined to fight for his United future “KOBBIE MAINOO is determined not to give up on his Manchester United career despite a bleak 13 months under Ruben Amorim. “Well-placed sources say the working relationship between Mainoo’s camp and Amorim was strained before the midfielder’s half-brother donned a ‘Free Kobbie Mainoo’ T-shirt at Old Trafford during the 4-4 draw with Bournemouth in early December. “Despite the friction between Mainoo and Amorim, those close to the 20-year-old United academy graduate say he is determined to revive his Old Trafford career.” Amorim has already hinted that he won’t risk anybody for the upcoming game against Leeds United. It remains to be seen if Kobbie Mainoo can at least make the matchday squad for the game at Elland Road.
