Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Manchester United’s stance on Jadon Sancho’s future as he nears the end of his contract. Sancho on brink of free agency Sancho is currently on loan at Aston Villa after Chelsea opted not to sign him at the end of last season. Chelsea had an obligation to make the move permanent, but he failed to make a significant impact, forcing the club to pay United a £5 million fee to cancel the deal. He is still finding his feet at Villa and is yet to start a Premier League match, having made all eight of his appearances as a substitute without registering a goal or an assist. The England international is believed to be attracting interest from Turkey, with the likes of Besiktas and Fenerbahce eyeing him. However, according to Romano, United have no desire to keep Sancho around any longer than necessary. Ruben Amorim’s side have made the decision to let the 25-year-old leave as a free agent. Romano confirms United’s Sancho position Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained, “Jadon Sancho is out of contract in the summer transfer window. Man Utd have an option to extend, but from what I’m told, they have already been clear with people close to Sancho.” “Man Utd believe that the chapter of Sancho at Man Utd is closed and there is no chance to find a different way.” “Sancho will not play for Man Utd again and this is the clear position of the club.” The Italian journalist continued, “We will be following what’s going to happen. Now I think it’s time to let Jadon Sancho take his time with Aston Villa, enjoy his time at Aston Villa, and try to make an impact.” United forked out £72m to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.
