United star conducted the orchestra vs Wolves, he showed exactly why Amorim never lost faith in him when others did

Manchester United thrashed Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 at the Molineux on Monday to climb to sixth in the Premier League table. The visitors took the lead through Bruno Fernandes in the first half. It was a scrappy finish, but the skipper won’t complain one bit. However, United’s joy did not last too long, with the home side equalising through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde just before half-time. It was Wolves’ first goal since October, and obviously it came against the Red Devils! Ruben Amorim must have gone berserk at half-time as the away side came out all guns blazing. They scored three times in the space of 30 minutes through to make matters sure. Brilliant second half Bryan Mbeumo started the scoring spree, before Mason Mount got in on the act. The skipper rounded off matters from the penalty spot. The Portugal international will claim all the plaudits, but Mason Mount deserves praise for the way he conducted affairs in midfield. He was dubbed a poor signing as the ex-Chelsea ace missed over 50 games in his first two seasons in Manchester. Plenty of pundits and former players lost faith in him, but not Amorim. The head coach was always effusive in his praise for the Englishman, who is starting to show his worth this season. Amorim’s management has borne fruit. He started three on the trot, then was taken out of the firing line for a couple of games, before once again being eased into games. This treatment has meant the England international has not suffered any serious injuries. Mason Mount ran the show As a result, the 26-year-old completed 90 minutes for the first time in the league since joining United against Crystal Palace, and now, he stepped up to the plate against bottom-of-the-barrel Wolves. Apart from the brilliant volley, the way he dropped deep to orchestrate the play almost reminded fans of Fernandes. His accurate long pings, and smart through balls were delightful to watch. With Amad, and Bryan Mbeumo set to depart for AFCON soon, the No.7’s form will be a huge boost. Now for him to stay fit and United have a great attacking outlet on their hands, who is also versatile to boot! Mason Mount is slowly starting to repay Amorim’s faith.
