BACK Dylan Oakley Dec 4th 2025 Man United have been tipped by reports to sign a Tottenham player who is currently on loan from Bayern Munich. The Red Devils go into their game against West Ham on Thursday hopeful of climbing into the top five in the Premier League with a win. If they do win, it will be two in a row and show signs of real momentum under Ruben Amorim. However, there are still issues Amorim needs to address. The Red Devils are desperate for a holding midfielder in January, as they need to find someone who can help them finish in the top four, but also be the long-term replacement for Casemiro. Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson has been linked with a move, but he is expected to cost at least £100 million, and Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes is also understood to be a target for Amorim in the January transfer window. Man United targeting Joao Palhinha Tottenham midfielder Joao Palhinha was linked with a move to United in the summer, but he instead completed a loan move to rivals Tottenham. It has been a successful start to life at Spurs for Palhinha, but he is only expected to stay there until his loan expires in June. According to a report by the Metro, Palhinha has been tipped for a move to Manchester United by former Tottenham midfielder Pedro Mendes, who says “why not” to the potential move in the summer. Palhinha is expected to command a transfer fee of around £50m, due to his extensive experience and proven talent. It is a lot of money for a 30-year-old, but he’s shown this season just how good he can be for Spurs. Former Man United star Nani also believes Palhinha would be a good fit at Old Trafford. He was quoted by Goal.com in October. The former United winger said: “He’s very strong and talented at winning and recovering the ball, and tackling. … He’s become a complete player in his position. I think he’s a great player and can do really well for Tottenham. “He is a player with energy, with power to recover balls and to fight … that is something that fits into Man United’s DNA.” Click here to see Man United’s latest injury news and expected return dates.
