CL giants ready to sell €60m star after snubbing United’s initial approach for 25-yo – report

Manchester United have seemingly returned to Madrid in search of a new defensive midfielder.  In 2022, United signed Casemiro from Real Madrid in a big-money move. Despite his physical decline, the veteran Brazilian remains the club’s most reliable midfielder, having become an undisputed starter under Ruben Amorim. However, the 33-year-old is in his final year of contract at Old Trafford. It is understood that his camp expects him to depart at the end of the season. Real Madrid refuse to sell Tchouameni Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have identified Aurelien Tchouameni as Casemiro’s long-term replacement. The Frenchman is considered one of Europe’s best midfielders, owing to his technical prowess and physicality. However, the Mancunians are not expected to get their hands on Tchouameni, who has become one of Xabi Alonso’s most important players at Santiago Bernabeu. Manchester United interested in Camavinga The Spanish outlet claim that “it could be a different story” when it comes to the future of Eduardo Camavinga. Signed from Rennes in 2021, Camavinga is yet to cement his place in Real’s starting lineup despite earning plaudits for his immense potential, technical ability and versatility. The 23-year-old has made just three La Liga starts this campaign. It is believed United admire the 6ft 1in midfielder and view him as one of the alternatives to Tchouameni. Real could reportedly “accept a generous offer” for Camavinga, who is expected to attract bids of around €60m.  It is going to be very difficult for any midfielder to fill the Casemiro-shaped hole in the middle of the park at Old Trafford. Both Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo have struggled to impress in the Brazilian’s absence.  As such, United would be better off signing a more experienced and consistent performer than Camavinga for such a demanding role.
